Chapter Eleven

"What do you mean Lindy isn't here?" Levi questioned Lindy's little sister Ginny who was brushing down her horse in the barn. He was shocked that she wasn't with Julie as she always was.
"I mean what I said Levi, she left." Ginny said looking up at him with blue-gray eyes.
"Why didn't she tell me she was leaving?"
"Maybe she didn't want you to know" Ginny replied turning her attention back to brushing her horse "She's angry with you, and wanted to get away."
"What did I do?" Levi asked confused, last he checked she's was the one who had forgotten to tell him about her new beau, who happened to be his best friend.
Ginny walked out of the stall pointing the horse brush at him "If you don't know then you're not as smart as you think you are."
Levi looked at Ginny confused. She looked a lot like her mother especially with the disapproving gaze she shot at him. She was far different from the quiet little girl she was when he had left for college.
"Virginia? Mr. Jasper? What are you two doing?" Fergus asked as he walked towards them. Virginia no one called Ginny that aside from her mother and occasionally her father. He wondered if the young ranch hand had feelings for Ginny, she was fifteen which was around the age when most girls started to court and marry men, although her father didn't approve of it until his children were at least eighteen.
"Gus" Ginny smiled at the man "Levi stopped by to ask about Lindy."
"She left a few days ago." Fergus said simply.
"Where did she go?" Levi asked, sighing when he saw Ginny shake her head no to Fergus. The two had a connection, it seemed as though they had a conversation just by looking at each other, kind of like him and Lindy.
"Are either of you going to tell me where Lindy is?"
"No." they said in unison.
"Well thanks" Levi said sarcastically "You've been such help."
He felt even angrier than he did before. And he had a feeling that Lindy's parents would be as ambiguous as Ginny and Fergus were. He mounted his horse, perhaps Mahailey or Aivy would know where Lindy had gone off too.

Lindy was excited when the train finally reached Denver City. Traveling for days had taken its toll on her, and all she wanted was a warm bath and a place to sleep.
Mrs. FitzGerald smiled and hugged her goodbye once they got onto the platform, and then left with her son.
Lindy stood with her trunk waiting for her uncle and aunt to pick her up; surely they knew she was coming today didn't they? What if they had forgotten her?
"Lindy?" A familiar voice said she smiled brightly when she saw her younger cousin twenty-one year old Gideon. He looked just like his father.
"Giddy!" she said jumping up to hug him "I've missed you!"
He laughed as he hugged her back "I've missed you too."
it was then she noticed Ariel standing near them, Ariel looked older then she had at Christmas she noticed as she then pulled away to hug Ariel. Her hair was raven black just like her mother's and she wore it down and her eye's we're dark blue.
"Arrie! I'm glad to see you!"
"I'm glad to see you too Lindy!" She said enthusiastically.
"I'm surprised Abbie didn't come with you two." Lindy said referring to Ariel's twin sister. Gideon looked at Ariel as if to make sure she was okay.
