A song came on that Lapis particularly liked. Pearl gasped that it was "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy". Lapis' wings opened as she began the dance, swinging a foot over her head and landing in a standing Opisthobranchia, twirling around slowly and calmly as the song advanced. She bowed and let Steven begin. He had a different concept, moving in sudden yet smooth motions. His feet scuffled against the cool sand of the jig beach and he twirled and bowed.
They each walked forward in a strut, spinning until they met each other, looking similar to a slow dance as Steven spun her upside down. Their gems glowed as Lapis fell into Steven and fused with him.
"Whoo! I just got put into the game and I am ready to go!" The fusion said. She was wearing a white striped headband and a purple tank top with the letter 'C' on the back and a star on the front, with matching white skirt and high tops. White fingerless gloves glowed onto her hands. "Hey everyone, I'm Team Captain Charoite but you can call me Char!" She high-fived the smaller organisms. "Steven! Lapis! You look awesome!" Connie touched Charoite's waist. "Foul!" Charoite edged away.
"Okay..." Connie laughed in a nervous tone. "Let's just go to sleep." "I'll stay out here! Sleep is waste!" Charoite began to do jumping jacks. As the Crystal Gems walked away, Charoite was left in the dark.
Everyone woke up to an air horn in their ears. "WAKE UP! ITS TIME FOR WORK OUT!" Charoite banged on the wall. "What time is it?!" Lars put his hand on Sadie's face as he stood up. "IT IS O' FIVE HUNDRED!" Everyone went outside tired and unhappy. Except for Connie. "Why are you following her?" She asked everyone. "We're too tired to do anything. And we don't want to refuse to Lapis again..." Jenny groaned.
Charoite spun around. "GET YOUR BUTTS MOVING!" She screamed, offended. Everyone moaned. "Maybe this won't be so bad. You needed a work out, Sadie." Lars laughed. Sadie grunted and turned as her eyes welled up with tears. "Not cool, man." Buck said. Lars pulled a frown. "I was kidding." "My mom used to host a comedy club, and they were funnier than you." Sour Cream yawned. "Yeah." Jenny narrowed her eyes. "Rude." They walked up to Sadie, who was crying.
"Dang it, man. Steve-" Lars turned around and only saw Charoite. "Oh yeah..." He looked depressed when he realized his only friend was gone.
"Everyone looks worse without Steven." Connie analyzed. "On the inside of course. Their heat levels are low and their energy decreased from when they woke up." Connie turned her eye red and activated her heat vision, knowing her hunch was correct.
"Steven, you're not a good mix!" Connie ran forward and banged into Charoite. "Yes we are. We're fit, healthy, fit..." Charoite paused. "And helpful!" "Helpful. Right. Maybe you can work on being more of a... Team player." Connie advised. "But... I'm Team Captain." "Yes, but being a leader is different than being a boss." "I'm a coach." Charoite argued. "And being a coach is different than being a leader. You decide how you lead." "I'll lead by... Never being me again." Steven and Lapis were thrown to the sides. "That was horrible." Lapis breathed.
"No it wasn't...!" Amethyst laughed. "Your dance was good!" "Yes," Pearl "At least she learned." Everyone murmured and left as the sun rose. "That was horrible." Garnet walked away to the temple. "Bye Steven." Connie waved and left.
Okay. So regarding this chapter, I made Charoite bad for a reason. So everyone would blame Lapis. Which leads to other things.
But regarding fan art and fan covers (see the story Roomates by Kimmy Her for examples), I'd like to say you can DM them to me by Instagram. My username is cutierosepie. OR maybe somehow message them to me in here. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed this chapter! It wasn't as good as they usually were, so sorry about that!
