Lapis sat on the couch, staring at Amethyst who was eating (very loudly) in the kitchen. "Hm." She whispered and flew away to her room.
She swiped across a mirror in the center of her room and replayed Charoite. "The dance was beautiful..." She murmured. "What did I do wrong?"
Knock knock. "Come in, Steven." She murmured. But Garnet came in. "Oh. I assumed it was Steven since he's the only one in this town who forgives and forgets."
"That's not okay." Garnet mumbled. "What do you mean?"
"It's okay to forgive, but forgetting the previous history is bad." The fusion re-adjusted her glasses. "We may be opposites. I'm prone to fire (it's where the gem Garnet is made), you're prone to water. I can see the future, you look back into the past... But we both have been misunderstood."
Lapis scoffed. "You? The famous amazing singing gem who is made of love and 'Stronger Than You'?" She rolled her eyes. "Do you think it was easy, being on Homeworld and learning songs about how bad fusions were, how they were a tactic out of desperation?!" Garnet turned to the blue girl. "No..." Lapis sighed. "I guess not." "You're learning a lot, Lapis Lazuli." Garnet put a huge gem-filled hand onto Lapis' shoulder. "I also know that you weren't at fault with Charoite." She smiled under her glasses.
Lapis' wings flapped upwards. "What?!" She screeched. "Then... How...." Her fast breathing was stopped by Garnet's hand. "It was Steven. His mother was a fantastic leader." She breathed. "But when he had the chance, he corrupted himself. He needs to learn. So do you. So do I." Garnet walked away with that. "It wasn't me? That's not possible. I'm the bad one. I make the mistakes.
Even if it wasn't this time.
Or was it?
Is Garnet just telling me this to make me feel better? Not go insane?" Lapis murmured in fear. She heard a rock hit a window and flew out of her room. A storm was splurging outside.
"What is this?!" She roared and lifted the sea to see under it. An orange gem flopped around on the bottom, lighting shooting from it and disturbing the ocean.
"My ocean! Wait..." She narrowed her eyes and saw it was triangle shaped.
"Jasper...?!" Lapis dropped the blanket of water in fear.
"Lapis, are you okay?!" Someone screamed in her ear as she whipped them with a hand of water. Steven laid on his side, his face red, tears streaming from it. Lapis gasped and backed away. "I'm sorry..." Steven stood up and licked his hand. "No! It's okay!" "I'm sorry!" She screamed and ran through the city. Kids cried, adults protected them, her old friends went indoors as she ran by. "What are you so afraid of?!" She said and rolled over a skateboard ramp, ejecting her wings and flying into the clouds.
Landing on a quite low one, she looked down. She noticed all the people had come out grinning and dancing. The children sang, "The Water Witch had gone! The Riptide Queen has gone! The Sea Monster has gone but run when it's raining!"
It started raining and the children screamed and ran inside.
"That's what you get for calling me the Sea Monster..." She murmured, looking back on the ocean to see massive waves lapping at the beach. "I have to save the city." She realized, plummeting forward until she reached the beach of the temple, where citizens were also gathered.
"It's Lapis!" Lars shouted. "She did this! As revenge for us leaving the sleepover!"
"I could care less about your stupid sleepover." Lapis told him. "And I'm saving you." "Lapis, what are you doing?!" Steven screamed, his face a little swollen but the red mark gone.
"I'm going to set things right. This is because of Jasper. She's regenerating. And if she does I won't be able to stop her. I can take back control, Steven!" "You don't have to, Lapis." "I know. It's my debt. I have to save Earth..." She whispered.
"Lapis..." Steven whispered back. "It's for the best Steven. I want this. I'm doing this for you..." She looked at the clouds. A strike of lightning from that would regenerate Jasper like that.
She flew up and spiraled down into the see... Hoping she wasn't to late...
Down...
Down...
Hope you liked the cliff hanger! Mwahaha! I'm evil! I'm a monster! I should do this more often! Just kidding. Keep in mind these plots are in between episodes. It'll make a little more sense in a few chapters.
Well, I gotta go to school (getting my braces off today)! See ya!
P.S. I might write another book. (Steven Universe) Suggestions?
