Agent Lahey's POV-

"That's not what you had me agree to earlier" Chase told me.

No matter how hard he tried, the young boy couldn't manage to conceal the quiver in his voice.

I rolled my eyes, of course he was fighting against me. I decided to pretend I hadn't heard him, continuing to come to a conclusion with Dr Abby and Nurse Cooper.

"So, what should we do?" Cooper was saying.

I hushed her, knowing that one of the boys abilities was heightened senses. But, then again, there was probably no point.

"Obviously, I want no good memory left in that boys mind. The reason why? He will cooperate with us, and carry out the next stage of the plan".

"As for the other thing?"

"Depends. Do you have the uncle?" I whispered back.

"Davenport? Yeah, we do. Bit complicated though. He's been trying to bargain with us ever since we bought him in".

"Jesus, he wouldn't shut up for six hours about it!" One of the nurses near us added.

I glared at him, causing him to look at the floor in apology and carry on setting up the equipment.

I sighed. Why do these Davenports have to be such an intricate family?

"What is it he's offering then?"

"Knowledge on the chip for his brothers release. Stupid idea in my opinion, but as you said, they're 'an intricate family'".

I cursed, not realising that I'd said those words out loud.

"Weren't we gonna let him out anyway?" Dr Abby asked, grinning.

I nodded, laughing slightly.

"Well, we might as well grant him his wishes. Let's get this surgery over and done with. Bring the uncle in".

Both Doctors nodded, passing instructions on to nurses who then carried out their orders.

I nodded, contempt with the operation at hand, and walked towards to door. I suddenly remembered that the boy was still lying there, waiting for me to answer. I tried my best to smile at him, not knowing whether he was going to survive the procedure or not. I shrugged, stopping just before the exit.

What was it that my trainer kept saying to me? Maybe, I thought, I should tell the boy what I had heard so many times before.

"Rule one Chase; The FBI lies to get what they want".

I smiled at him one last time, before stepping out of the medical room and slowly closing the door behind me.

"Sweet dreams, Mr Davenport" I heard Cooper coo as she placed the sedation mask over the boys mouth and nose.

I watched as Chase attempted to squirm away, but he slowly lost energy and slipped into unconsciousness.

"Agent Lahey?" A man said from behind me, causing me to jump slightly.

I turned around to face a man who had a similar physique to Chase. Same spiked up brown hair, similar muscle and face structure, same intellect from what I'd heard.

I smirked at the man.

"Welcome, Douglas Davenport".

The man, Douglas, rolled his eyes and folded his arms.

"What d'you want me to do then?" He asked, his tone sour.

"Just want you to help us understand how this 'bionic chip; of Chase's works. As I understand it, you helped to design it".

"Designed and made it, thank you very much".

"Right, apologies".

I stepped aside and gestured for him to go into the medical room, first offering scrubs and all that shit you need for an operation.

"Condolences!" I shouted to him before he disappeared into the room.

Douglas turned back to face me, anger and confusion written on his face.

"What?" He more-or-less spat.

"Condolences," I repeated. "You know, just incase something goes wrong in there".

"Well, thanks," Douglas nodded, "but nothing's going to happen in there".

***

The next few hours was an event of Douglas screaming at the scientists when they got a calculation wrong, and him sulking when he needed to remove Chase's chip.

"Remember," I kept reminding him through the intercom, "that you're doing this to get your brother out". I managed to receive an eye roll and the finger every time I helped jog his memory.

It had taken two hours, but we'd managed to do it. Not only did we give the boy selective memory modification towards certain family members, but we'd also convince Douglas to get rid of the Commando App and unlock the rest of his other abilities, as well as creating an app which will allow Chase to go without his capsule without 'glitching',  just so we won't receive any unwanted surprises during trainings.

The 'clear' alarm sounded, and the surgery ended. I watched as the nurses and the doctors filed out of the medical room, chattering away and the quickly removed their dull blue gloves and scrubs.

I turned to the nearest guard.

"Have Douglas leave immediately, and give him a twenty-four hour amnesia pill. We don't want him blabbing about where our facility is".

The guard nodded and left, grabbing Douglas and pulling him towards the  storage area. I turned to another guard.

"Take Chase to his cell. But first, have him sanitised and ready for training. We want to treat him exactly like any other trainee we've had".

Before the guard could respond, I turned and left the room without another word to anyone.

So again, another short chapter today, so sorry about that!

Also, sorry if this chapter was somewhat confusing! For the record, Douglas is good in this story!

Please let me know what you guys think! And, as always, what you want to happen. I've had so many good ideas and am definitely going to use them in the future!

Thanks so much for reading!! :D
