Mr Davenport's POV-

I was sitting in an interrogation room, my hands chained to the table. They were bruised and bleeding badly, not only from being manhandled to the station, but also because they were being beaten by the two police officers inside.

"Sooner or later you're gonna have to cough something up!" The FBI interrogation agent yelled at me, spit flying from his mouth.

I didn't flinch a bit. For two months now they'd been at me, constantly trying to grab a single string of information out of me. So far, they've had no such luck. Multiple scars and bruises lined my body. One of their interrogation techniques is the use of force and pain.

The FBI agent nodded to the officer closest to me, who pulled out a short whip. It had a wicked look to it, having a stick like handle, with material attached to it that slightly resembled snake skin. The officer stroked the whip menacingly, an evil grin creased his face. He took a slow step towards me and raised the whip high in the air, slapping it down my back. I flinched slightly and whimpered, squeezing my eyes closed. You'd expect that after a few weeks of this, you'd grow use to the thought of pain.

"Ready to give us a slight insight?" The agent asked.

I slowly opened my eyes again and stared at him.

"This is illegal" I told him, my voice cracking slightly. "You have no right calling yourself professional agents".

The other officer quickly pelted me down the spine.

I yelped, unsuspecting the strike.

The agent leaned across the table, balling his hands into fists and resting them in the middle of the table.

"I have every right to call myself a professional agent, more right than you to call yourself innocent. And since you are hiding this secret about a superhuman, I've authorised it necessary to use any force needed to pry information out of you".

I raised my eyebrow, looking him in the eye.

"I never said that I was innocent" I told him sternly.

"Glad we've got that out of the way" the agent said sarcastically, sitting back and folding his arms.

There was a loud, rusty click echoing across the room. The door swung open and the head officer of my section stepped through.

"All right Fisher, time's up. I hope you got something outta him today" he said.

Agent Fisher rolled his eyes and stood up, gathering his multiple papers.

"Bit early, isn't it Earnest?" Agent Fisher pressed.

Earnest wore a large scowl on his face and tapped his foot impatiently.

"Hurry up Fisher, we agreed an hour twenty-five today. Better up your game if you're hoping for more tomorrow".

Agent Fisher slammed his folder closed and strode across the room towards the door, the two officers behind him. He glared at Earnest before stepping out of the room and stomping down the hallway.

Earnest looked at me sternly and nodded.

"Come along then" he said. "Visiting hours. One says he's your step-son".

My heart skipped a beat. Leo. I held my arms up slightly, waiting as Earnest quickly unlocked the handcuffs. I rubbed my sore wrists and followed him to the Phone Booths, looking around for a glimpse of Leo. Earnest lead me to the furthest one to the right, gesturing for me to take a seat. As I did so, I quickly smiled at Leo, who was waiting for me on the other side.

"You've got five minutes" Earnest said, and left.

Leo and I grabbed our phones simultaneously.

"Hows it going Big D?" Leo said first.

I swallowed. "My back is beaten, I'm bleeding all over, and I can't guarantee that I can last here too much longer" I told him truthfully.

He sighed. "Look, we've come up with a plan to get you out, so just hold on a bit longer, OK?"

I nodded. "Is Tasha alright?" I asked, my worry for her becoming almost too much.

"A little bedridden, I guess. She's getting better though. Becoming her usual self again".

I sucked in air through my teeth and exhaled deeply. "I can't stop thinking about Chase," I admitted. "This whole thing is my fault. I feel like I've let him down. I've trained him to handle anything, except this. It's over".

"Big D, this is not your fault. Mostly it's Douglas' idea, which you sort of helped with. But that's not the point! I have faith in him. He's out there somewhere, surviving with whatever guts he has left, not even knowing about what's going on with us. He's strong".

I sighed. "You're right Leo," I agreed. "I shouldn't have doubted him".

"He will make it, Big D," Leo continued. "He might just be a bionic teenager, but he doesn't give up, and neither should we".

I smiled. "Yeah, you don't need to convince me any more" I told him.

"Aw, seriously? I had this huge speech prepared and memorised for you!" He replied sarcastically.

I laughed slightly. "Anyway," I said seriously. "Fill me in on this plan of yours".

After two minutes of Leo explaining the entire plan, I felt slightly less hope.

"That might take years to complete!" I protested.

"It was honestly the best idea we'd come up with. All the others were mostly Adams".

I gave him a 'fair enough' shrug to that.

I was so deep in thought about the plan, I didn't notice an officer come up behind me.

"Time's up" he spat, making me jump slightly.

I nodded and looked at Leo, tears in my eyes.

"See you later Big D" he said with a smirk.

"Give my love to the family" I replied as I slowly stood up. I put the phone back in the holder and watched as Leo left the room.

"Come on" the officer urged, giving me a small push.

I wiped away a stray tear and left.
