Chases's POV-

"Have you tried crushing things with your molecular kinesis?" Gordon asked while reading the paper. "You know, like one of the twins did at the end of Captain America: The Winter Solider?"

I looked up at him and cocked my head.

"Captain America?" I asked.

He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, one of the Marvel movies".

I stared at him more.

"The first Avenger? Steve Rodgers? Saves the world from Hydra? Ringing any bells?"

I shook my head.

He slammed down his paper and scolded me. "You've never seen the Captain America movies!? Jesus Christ Chase, you haven't lived yet!"

I cracked a smile at that.

Gordon sighed. "I bet you've never seen Iron Man, Thor, The Amazing Hulk, Superman, Batman, even Spiderman for that matter!"

I shook my head again. "Sorry, I haven't. I tried watching Superguy with my brother once, but I just couldn't finish it. I mean, it completely defies the laws of physic! Logically, they shouldn't even make movies that don't interpret the life cycle of reality. AND it makes people believe and hope for things that don't exist. They could hang off the side of a building just so that they can get save by a fictional character! How stupid is that!? Why would someone watch that? Or even make that, for that matter?"

"Oh for god's sake Chase. If you weren't in custody at the moment, I'd rush you to a DVD player and force you to watch all the Marvel movies back-to-back, just to prove to you how wrong you are. They're bloody brilliant! Also, it's Superman not Superguy you idiot".

I grinned. "Yeah, I'd love that" I replied sarcastically.

"I'm serious!" He protested. "Seriously! They're absolutely amazing movies!"

"Sure they are" I answered, holding the u

He grinned slightly. "When did you learn this level of sarcasm?" He asked. "I'm sure that before you were a goodie-good who couldn't insult anyone, even just the slightest, no matter how hard you tried".

I laughed. "I dunno. I guess I might have picked it up from my sister..." I stopped. "M-my sister..." I strained my memory, screwing up my eyes. "My sister Bree" I said finally, excited that I'd finally got it. Why couldn't I remember her name in the first place though? She's my sister, probably the closest sibling I have. Surely I could remember her name.

Gordon noticed this with great curiosity. "Bit of a mind blank, eh?" He asked.

I nodded, confused.

He raised an eyebrow. "What about your other siblings? Can you tell me their names?"

I nodded. Of course I could! They were my family!

"Um, my older brothers name is... Ashton? No, no, it's Adam. Only joking!" I laughed uneasily.

Gordon urged me to continue. "And your other sibling?"

"H-he's adopted. What? No, step-brother. And, um, I'm pretty sure his names Leo".

Gordon nodded slowly. "OK then" he said seriously. "Um, how about I call off all physical testing today and just do some psychological tests" he said, gathering his newspaper and standing up.

"You think I've got physiological problems?" I asked.

"No! No, no, of course not!" He replied, his voice slightly higher than usual. "Just to test you memory. Y'know, for signs of amnesia. I'm not saying you have amnesia, it's just protocol. Just in case". He gave a nervous grin and motioned for me to get up.

I did obediently, and followed him to my room.

'Room' I thought, chuckling. 'Starting to feel like home now, this place. I guess it is home'. I strained my memory to my first day here, remembering what I kept on telling myself, pleading.

'Adam, Bree and Leo with come for me. They will, of course they will. They'll come tomorrow and rescue me from this nightmare. That's what families do, they help each other'.

I snorted. What an idiot I was, so desperate and wimpy.

"Yeah, well, so much for family" I muttered.
