Chase's POV

I stood in the middle of an empty room. No cuffs, no wires, no guards armed with guns. I was free, well, as free as I'll ever be in this place.

Gordon stood outside, looking in through a glass window. The room was sound-proof, you could only hear things in this room when you're outside it, so he had to talk through the speakers.

"OK C, all you have to do is demonstrate your abilities".

I looked around and shrugged. "I need something in here for most of them" I yelled.

Gordon muttered something to one of the scientists, who nodded and disappeared for a moment. There was a loud click and the door swung open, revealing a chair with half the scientist behind it. He placed it in the corner of the room and ran back out of the room, quickly locking the door behind him.

"Anything else you need?" Gordon asked.

I thought for a moment.

"Someone to throw something at me and also a whiteboard".

A smile crept across Gordon's face as he instructed the same scientist to fulfil my wish list.

Bree's POV

"OK. Thanks, bye". I closed the call and slowly made my way back to Leo and Adam. Bail was definitely off the list.

Leo looked at me hopefully, not sensing that anything was wrong. "And?" He asked. I sighed.

"Twenty' I told him sadly. He shrugged.

'What's wrong with that? Twenty thousand isn't that much with Big D's bank account". I shook my head.

"No. Not thousand. Twenty million".

His jaw dropped so low it almost reached the floor. "Million!?" He asked, astonished.

I nodded. "That's how big the crime was" I said.

Adam looked at me, confused. "Hang on, is billion the one with three zeros or the bigger one?" He asked.

"The bigger one" I clarified. He still looked confused.

"Wait, the bigger one or the bigger, bigger one with..." He quickly counted on his fingers. "Nine zeros?"

'Just the bigger one with six!' Leo and I cried.

Adam nodded, finally understanding. "Well that's not much of a big problem then" he said slowly.

I rolled my eyes.

"We can still do this" Leo said confidently.

"How?" I asked, not even caring anymore.

"We could do what we did with the jet wing stunt, y'know, like, raise money, except in a way cooler way" Adam supplied.

Leo nodded. "You seem to have gotten smarter since Chase left" Leo complimented him.

Adam smiled.

I sighed. "But what's the point?" I asked. "What if we can't get Chase back? Why even try?"

Leo stared at me, shocked. "We have to try" he said. "We need to stay together on this, no backing out now".

I nodded. "Yeah. I guess you're right" I agreed.

Leo grinned childishly. "Right then, let's get to work!"

Chase's POV

The room was ready. I was ready. I felt confident about this, I don't know why. I decided to start with my Molecula Kinesis. I lifted the chair off the ground and moved it across the room, placing it down in the opposite corner. I saw the scientists nod approvingly and jot down some notes. I grinned. It's time to start showing off. I eyed the man in the corner of the room, waiting impatiently for when he got to throw a rock at me.

"Hey, dude, you ready?" I asked him, smirking.

He grinned, his white teeth blazing. He threw the rock hard, but I was ready. The rock hit the surface and rolled down the side, my force field protecting me the whole way. The rock-throwing-man looked astonished. I could tell he really wanted to do it again. Obviously violence was part of his childhood and inflicted him to act the same. The scientist, though I couldn't hear it, were applauding.
Next, intelligence. I quickly wrote down the hardest sum I knew on the whiteboard and waited a good twenty minutes while the scientist tried to work it out. In the end, I just wrote the answer on the board, earning a long, yet silent, "ohhhhh" from my audience.
My magic show was concluded by me levitating myself three feet in the air. I didn't think they'd want to see Spike, I definitely didn't want things to get worse. I also decided not to show my heightened senses, as they could be useful later. Same with my magnetism app.

I gave a bow once my feet were back on the ground.

Gordon nodded, pleased with my contribution. He let me out and patted me on the back.

"Nice show kiddo" he congratulated me. "Y'see, this place isn't that bad, is it?"

I shook my head. "No, I guess it's not".
