Chase's POV-

The next day Gordon escorted me to my new room, well, cell. Room, cell, whatever. It's a place and I'm staying in it for what, I assume will be, a very long time, so I can call it what I like. He still made me wear the cuffs, which are engineered so that it blocks out the signal from my bionic chip. Life seems to be getting easier here. I've become immune to pain, two weeks of painful testing seems to do this to you. Also, I'm not hungry that much anymore. Lets just say that I'm on a diet, which I didn't actually want to start, that works really well. I'm still convinced that Adam and Bree will come for me, that's what families do. We help each other. Even though he trusts me a bit more now, Gordon still made me wear the cuffs. They block out the signal from my bionic chip, that's the only reason why I have to wear them. Gordon lead me down a long, white corridor, one that looked like a hospital ward. He started muttering to himself, trying to start a conversation, though not very successfully. My mind was on other things. One sentence kept buzzing around me head, as it had been for weeks. The sentence? Well, it's quite obvious if you think about it. What's the one thing anyone in my situation would be so desperate for? Their family. Again, the sentence run through my head, getting louder and louder each time.

Please, please Adam and Bree. Please come and rescue me soon. Please.

The last please always sounded as a whisper, symbolising hope. Hope that's almost lost. I'd die if I don't get to see my family's faces again, become completely insane. As Gordon kept rambling on, I decided to have a little conversation of my own.

'Don't give up' I told myself. 'They will come'.

'And how do you know that?' My conscience replied.

I shrugged. 'They're family, they always do'.

A loud cackle erupted inside my head. 'Family? That's your excuse? Think about it Chase. Think about all those times when they made fun of you, all those short jokes and when Adam played Bionic Brother Toss. All those days when Davenport ignored you and gave Adam and Bree the praise, taking you for granted. That's the family you miss?' My conscious told me, snarling.

I shook my head. 'You're wrong. They will come for me, I know they will".

I could somehow feel my conscious shrug. 'OK then. But just remember that dreams shortly turn into nightmares, just when you need the dream the most'.

And that was the end of our conversation.

Leo's POV-

"We need to get Big D out of jail" I said, pacing the floor.

Adam and Bree nodded in agreement.

This was one of our regular family meetings that we seem to be having quite often. They basically consist of us brainstorming ideas that could get Big D out of jail and Chase back home. The meetings don't usually last for long, as it ends with either no one having any ideas or someone running out of the room crying, usually Bree.

"But how?" Adam asked.

This was usually how the meetings started.

I flopped down onto the couch and rested my chin in my hand.

We sat in silence, ideas bubbling up inside us.

"We could pay" Bree offered.

"Yeah!" Adam agreed. "Lets bribe them with all Davenports money!"

Bree rolled her eyes. "Or" she said sarcastically. "We could ask the court how much it would be to bail him out, it can't be too expensive".

Adam shrugged. "Yeah, I guess we could do that too".

I grinned. "That's the best idea I've heard so far. How come we haven't thought of that yet!?" I said.

Bree shrugged. "I've been watching a few cop shows on Netflix lately".

I grinned. "And people say that Netflix's useless" I muttered.

Bree smirked and jumped up. "OK, I'll go phone the jail up" she said enthusiastically and ran out of the room.

"God I hope this works" I prayed.
