He should have used his powers to dust her right there, his words had the exact same effect.

Ingrid looked up at her brother, she wiped away her tears and tried her best to look happy, "Oh... it's nothing. I'm just happy, that's all," although she knew that wasn't the mood she was expressing.

Vlad pushes some boxes away and sat down next to her, "Ingrid, I know you," he looked down at his feet, "You only ever cry when something really bad has happened," he waited for his sister to talk.

For a moment, Ingrid was about to tell him everything. She stopped herself, considering what she had to do.

The quicker she did it, she quicker it would be over, the quicker she would have Will.

Ingrid stood up, "I don't want to talk about it. I can't talk about it," she began to walk back down the hall. She'd skip breakfast, grab some blood from the cellar, then go for a walk. She needed to be away from them for a little while, think about things. How she would take Vlad to the Vampire High Council.

The chosen one closed the closet door and stared down the hallway at his sister, "You know, Ingrid, I've been discovering a few powers I've got," he hoped by telling her this that she would share with him whatever was troubling her, "And I can get into people's heads, read their thoughts, emotions..." he rejoined his father in the dining room.

Great, just great. Ingrid wasn't sure if she should believe him.

He could just be a clever trick, to make her tell him everything.

But what if it wasn't? What if he was already on to her? But if he knew, why didn't he confront her about it? It's not like he had any reason to be scared of a lone female vampire, he was the chosen one after all!

She couldn't get rid of the feeling that did know something, and Ingrid was starting to consider telling him. Maybe that was the way to get him to the council, just let him go of his own accord.

She could act innocent, like they council had threatened her. Ingrid's life or Vlad's. That would surely work. Then she could get her reward, and it all would have seemed like an accident.

But that was something too cruel even for her. If she was going to betray him; she would have to do it openly.
