"You've not wanted to fight alongside me before," Vlad was suspicious of his sister. The weak Vladimir may have fallen prey to her plans multiple times, but this Vlad wasn't stupid.

"You kidding? Sure I have," Ingrid said, "What about the shapeshifter? And all the recent stuff, I helped bring you back when you were dust!"

"I know where your loyalties lie, Ingrid," Vlad spoke, glancing at Kala every now and then to make sure he was paying attention, "You think of yourself and no one else."

"Not true," She shuffled her feet nervously, "Now do you want me on your side or not?"

Vlad considered, "That is what I asked, isn't it?" He grabbed his sisters hand and sarcastically shook it, "Welcome aboard the blood train!"

She forced a smile and pulled her hand back, "Give me a minute to get some essentials, then I'll come with you..." Ingrid paused, "Wherever it is you're going."

"You be quick then, my dear," Kala grinned evilly.

Ingrid closed the door and stepped back inside, breathing heavily.

Vlad's reflection was powerful.

If he could read even the slightest of her emotions; it mightn't end well for her.

She sped into the kitchen and pulled a notepad and pen from the drawer. She quickly scribbled down a note for Will.

Vlad's reflection took over- is leading a war against breathers. I had to go with him. Will get back as soon as I can.

She folded the paper in half and placed it on the dining table.

Will had been gone for three days now, he said he'd gone to look at how his family was doing.

Ingrid had wanted to go with him, but he'd refused her company.

He should have been back by now, she should have been worrying.

But he'd promised he'd come back, and besides, now wasn't really the time to get emotional.

"Hurry up!" Kala hissed, banging on the outside of the door.

Ingrid put away the paper and pen and sped to the front door, she opened it and stepped out.

Only Kala was there, no Vlad.

"Where did he go?" Ingrid looked around. She noticed that the gigantic pack of vampires had moved past. The street was now peaceful.

"He didn't have time to wait for you," Kala spoke as he grabbed Ingrid's wrist and began speeding down the road, taking her with him, "He is heading into the city. There you will be expected to bite."

"Well that's not hard. Is that all this so called war is about? Biting?"

Kala had a menacing look on his face, he answered, "For now, yes."

Eventually they caught up with the hundreds of other vampires.

They all tilted their heads at Ingrid, inspecting the new recruit.

There were some hisses of disapproval and, as Kala pulled her through to the front of the group, also some encouraging pats on the back.

He let go her wrist when they lined up with Vlad, "Chosen One," Kala greeted him.

"About time," Vlad complained, "Girls and they're makeup."

Ingrid thought about Erin, and then Artur. Where were they?

"How's Erin?"

"The brat was locked up last time I checked. She's probably been eaten by the insects," Vlad smiled at the sadist thought.

"Aren't you a happy one," Ingrid said plainly, as much as she'd grown to be friends with Erin, she decided the half fang wasn't her problem.

They neared London. A mixture of historic and modern buildings came into view on the horizon.

Vlad clicked his fingers much more often as the city traffic began to reach them, he stopped when they were at their destination.

"Halt!" Vladimir held up his hand and the vampires quickly froze in their tracks, some crashing into each other.

"Shall we begin?" Kala urged, licking his lips as the scent of blood entered his nostrils.

"Not yet..." Vlad's fangs appeared, the scent drawing him in, but he didn't want to rush. Vampires did things properly.

"I'm setting some rules."

The vampires began whispering to each other, saliva pouring out of their mouths as the temptation of all the breathers got to them. They wanted to go at them right now, they didn't like rules.

"Silence!" Vlad roared. The power of his voice alone caused some of the vampires to fall to the ground as dust.

This turned then very silent.

"You are welcome to take any breathers you want, except the rich. The juiciest and richest loot is mine and mine alone! I will dust anyone who disobeys this rule! You understand?"

They nodded and shouted in agreement, then Kala waved his hand and the hundreds, perhaps thousands of vampires sped into the city.

Vlad and Kala sped towards the nearest government building, Ingrid stayed where she was.

She stared at the grey sky. It was becoming lighter as morning inched forever closer.

They had less than an hour, but they could finish the job in less than ten minutes.

She shivered as screams sounded from every building in the city. The gory massacre beginning.

She didn't know if she wanted to do this, but she had to.

Ingrid sped down a wide street and into a hotel, fangs bared, to join in the fun.
