(Jackson)

"I need an explanation... Now." I bit out through clenched teeth.

Needing to know who this Kian was and how he could cause such a dramatic reaction from both of my parents. Who normally conducted themselves with such confidence and control. Struggling to control Valk who was snarling with the demand of blood for who dared take us on. Death will not come easy for him.

My father shot a glance toward his Beta and Third giving them a slight nod toward the door, instructing them to leave us. (Just us.) he whispered into our link, (Elena stays.) I insisted instinctively tightening my hold on her, she is the future Luna to our pack and my mate. (Of course.) he replied giving not indication that she wasn't welcomed to stay. They must have really had a good talk, for this drastic change in him toward her.

Looking to Marcel and Rene I also nodded for them to leave us as well.

Snapping her head up my mother grabbed Marcel's arm in panic. "Where's Lorcan?" she demanded, desperation ringing clear in her voice as I narrowed my eyes at her.

Why was that important at this moment?

"I sent him to track down Daniella, to bring her back here to answer for her actions and face the consequences." he replied instantly looking confused and concerned at my mother's desperate action toward him.

"Thank the Goddess." she breathed in relief looking up at my father in fear as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Do. Not. let him in if he does show... not until we finished with this conversation." My father snapped, letting it be known that his word was to be followed without question.

"I'll just..." Elena started to say pulling herself from me, standing to leave as well. I gripped her waist pulling back onto my lap. "Jackson." she hissed in protest, thinking that she didn't belong in this conversation.

"Stay sweetheart... Your family and... you already know part of this story anyway." My father huffed as he gave her a small smile, before looking back at my mother gazing lovingly into her eyes as he swept the hair from her face as he cupped her cheeks.

"Elisa should be here as well. They both need to know and understand." Mom sighed letting her tears fall as she returned my father's loving gaze, gripping his forearm for support.

"Of course darling." he breathed giving her a quick, yet sweet kiss. I was taken back by their actions.

They've hardly shown any affection toward each, at least not since I brought Elena home with me. Both stubborn about their decision and option of her. But now none of that seemed to matter as my father held onto her as if his life depended on it.

"I'll link her." I stated turning to look at my beautiful mate, who despite the uncomfortable and tense situation was smiling at my parents affection toward each other.

"Already done." Elena replied in a whisper turning to curl up into me, bringing her hand up to stroke along my jaw, showing me that whatever came next she was there for me. That she was going to stand at my side.

"What's going on?" Elise called from the office doors, looking between us raising her eye brows at our intimate embraces. I shrugged my shoulders at my twin, just as confused as she was, yet Elena bit her lip nervously.

What was this story that my father said she already knew part of, and what did it have to do with this Kian?

"Come, take a seat sweetheart." Mom called to her, scooting over so she could sit next to her on the couch with our parents.
