Thursday [3:28 pm]
Afternoon
A sharp pain throws me from the mattress. I yelped, like actually yelped, when I landed hard on my shoulder. I felt the cold hardwood beneath me and shivered. I opened my eyes—or eye—and looked around the room. I was in the infirmary, I think it was the infirmary. White walls, white bed sheets, and the smell of antiseptic in the air.
Definitely the infirmary.
"Did I really just fall off the bed?" I grumbled, flinching at the frog in my throat.
I groaned as I used my arm to lean further up. I struggled to my feet and used the bed beside me to stand. I felt my sore limbs protest with each step, but I eventually made it to the door. Stepping out into the hall I followed the familiar smell of yogurt and wood.
I eventually found myself standing outside a room. I opened the door and headed straight for the bed. I collapsed beside the figure beneath the sheets and pulled them further into my chest by their waist. "Cammy..?" Her voice entered my ears, the sound being enough to relax my tense muscles.
"You can't be in here. The pack—"
"Fuck the pack. I need you right now." I grunted, pulling her closer and rested my face into her neck. I inhaled before exhaling sharply, taking in as much of her scent as I could. We lied together for what felt like forever, I was tempted to go back to sleep but the pain wouldn't let me.
Nor would my beasts as they grumbled with each move Iris made. "Did you run?" She spoke, breaking the comfortable silence we'd built in the past half hour. "Does it look like I can run at the moment babe." I groaned. "I love you Cameron, so please don't piss me off." She retorted. I rolled my eyes and flipped my body towards the window.
I felt her hands on my neck, her fingers tangling with my baby hairs before she eased them higher. Her fingers threaded through my curly hair, her nails scratching against my scalp when she suddenly fisted multiple strands in a tight grip. She pulled hard, yanking my head from the pillow. She turned me onto my back, hair held tightly between her fingers as she stared down at me with her famous glare.
"Fuck, baby! What are you—" she pulled again, harder as she turned me to face her.
"Ok I'm sorry, shit! I'll go run." I winced, sighing when she released her grip. She gave me a peck on the lips before pressing a gentle kiss on my temple. "Please." She whispered, voice soft as she gripped onto the front of my shirt. I nodded slowly, "ok."
I moved from my spot on the bed, leaving the room while Iris remained in her spot. Out in the hall I limped over to the stairs. I winced with each step, feeling a burning sensation spread across my shoulder. I felt exhausted, every move I made further inducing the feeling as I entered the large courtyard.
I'd barely made a few feet and an arm throws itself over my shoulder. I winced and shoved the figure away. "What the hell meo!" I exclaimed, an unintended growl mixing with my words as I glared at the man. "Sorry, forgot about those for a second." He said while pointing to my bandaged wounds. "What do you want man?" I asked as I headed over to the tree-line.
"Just came to see how you were doing. From the looks of it, I would say pretty fucking bad." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "Glad to see my pain amuses you." I said, reaching for the nearest tree to lean against.
