Chapter 46

Connor and Summer had spent the short couple of weeks between their honeymoon and Summer's birthday party catching up on work mostly. The party was this Saturday, two days away now. The couples had gotten costumes for it as well.

"Good shit, angel" Connor praised her as they finished their last set and headed for the gyms exit. They had been back in the gym too since the couple of weeks leading up to the wedding were busy. This session was a quick leg day after Summer got off work a little early.

"Thank you".

"Want a smoothie?"

"Yes please. What time are you going out?"

"Like 9" Connor answered "Kam still coming over? Or is it all the girls?"

"Kam and Avery for sure. Jo said she'll let us know".

"Alright. Anything I need to do?"

"Nope, it's handled, seriously" she smiled before he opened the passenger door to let her get in.
They stopped for smoothies on the way home and showered when they reached the house. Connor got out first while Summer finished washing her hair.

"Hey, come in" he opened the door for Kamryn and let her follow him back upstairs.

"Sorry am I too early. Summer said to come whenever".

"Oh no, you're good. She's still in the shower".

"Okay. I brought wine".

"Even better" Connor laughed a bit.

"Right. Excited for your adventure?" She asked.

"I am. I didn't know he was into nature this much".

"Oh yea, camping, fishing, hiking, whatever. Not my thing but I love it for him".

"You sound like Summer" he teased "but it was cool of him to invite me".

"Guys are so funny. Y'all talk all the time and he was a groomsman at your wedding, I would hope he invited you to stuff. He's very excited that the two of you are friends and Summer and I couldn't be more thrilled".

"I bet".

"Hey, has he said anything about engagement to you?"

"No, not to me. Is that looking like next steps?"

"Of course, but I truly can't get a reading on how soon. Wanna poke the bear for me?"

"Is that a camping joke?"

"Very bright, Dr. Griffin" she laughed "But I'm serious".

"Hm, I'll see what I can do".

"Thank you. I'm gonna head up to your room".

"Sure. I'm making food, hungry?"

"Yes please" she said before starting up the stairs "hello" she knocked on the bathroom and opened the door. Summer stood in front of the mirror in towel while she dried her hair.

"Oh hi".

"Where you coming from?"

"We were at the gym".

"The real gym or the shower gym?"

"Shut up" Summer giggle at her teasing "just you?"

"Mhm. Connor's cooking and I'm taking advantage, what's he making?"

"Chicken wraps I think. I don't ask, but he mentioned wanting that".

"Oh good".

"How was work last night?"
