Straight 'A' Student

Chapter 44

Summer and Connor were leaving the house and heading to Martha's Vineyard around noon. They would be travelling with all the girls and their partners, but in separate cars of course. Their families would be arriving today as well to settle in and prepare for the upcoming events. Summer's included her grandparents, aunt and uncle, and her father's friend, Jack, with his family. Connor's side included his immediate family, his extended family that Summer would be meeting for the first time, and of course Josh and his family. The rest of the guest list consisted of their friends with their families, coworkers and their bosses, their parents friends, and people they went to college with and kept in touch. They were excited for the wedding festivities to officially begin.

"Did you pack your suit already?" Summer asked as she joined him in the kitchen while he cooked.

"Yes ma'am, I'm ready to go".

"Okay good. I just need to double check the emergency bag and put the gift boxes for the girls in a bigger box so it's easier to carry".

"Alright" Connor smiled and turned to stand between her legs. He kissed her softly as her arms wrapped around his shoulders.
"Is it bad luck to start calling you my wife already?"

"I don't know, but I love the sound of it".

"So do I".

"Mrs. Summer Griffin".

"I love the sound of that even more. You know you don't have to change your name?"

"I want to" she smiled at his excitement "socially at least, I'd love to go by the last name".

"Whatever you'd like, angel. Go sit, I'll bring the coffee" he helped her down and let her take their plates to the couch.

They took the two hour drive to the wedding venue, a large hotel that sat right in front of a lake.

"I love it, it's beautiful" Kamryn said as the four of them went to head inside, leaving the men to grab their bags.

"I know right. I figured the lake would be so gorgeous for the pictures".

"Definitely. So what's the rundown again?" Josie asked.

"Bachelor and bachelorette parties tonight. Rehearsal dinner tomorrow night, so we're not all hung over at the wedding, of course. Then the wedding".

"Exciting. How do you feel?".

"I feel like our first date again" Summer smiled as the guys walked in. She joined Connor at the check in desk as he spoke with the employee.

"Yes, so that's separate rooms tonight and tomorrow and the honeymoon suite after that. You can come the morning of the wedding to get the room key for the honeymoon suite, just bring an ID and it should be an easy process" she explained.

"Sounds good, thank you".

"Of course and congratulations".

"Thank you" Summer said as she smiled back at the woman. After they all checked in and got their room keys, they went their separate ways. All the girls agreed to reconvene in Summer's room to get ready, but until then Connor stayed with her.

"Any word from your parents?" He asked.

"They'll be here around 9, yours?"
