Summer had been passively avoiding Connor. Granted, she had a lot of studying to do with finals coming up, so that was her main excuse. Other than that, she gave him the excuse of helping Avery out with wedding planning. Coincidentally, the only time she was ever free was when he told her that he was working late. Connor had caught on after the second or third bail out, but he didn't push her. He had a lot on his mind too.

"What time is Darren gonna be home?" Summer asked.

"Eh, couple hours. But you're good to keep avoiding your boyfriend as long as you need" she said and Summer groaned.

"Boyfriend might be a stretch, I'm pretty sure I just got him fired".

"Stop that. Like I've said before, he knew what he was getting into and he decided that you were worth the risk. You're not to blame, even if he did get fired".

"I'm supposed to be going home with this man, this is horrible".

"Gonna cancel the trip?"

"I don't know. I think I'm waiting for him to give in to my excuses and just text me so I can stop wondering".

"Did you talk to your dad?"

"For what?"

"Oh please, I know he's your favorite person to talk these things out with" Avery laughed.

"Don't sell yourself short. But also, I don't want to prove Spencer right".

"Spencer was wrong, this relationship wasn't a mistake".

"Maybe I was clouded by the sex. It's very good sex".

"Oh shut up" Avery laughed "don't worry, it's gonna be fine".

"Okay, so enough about me. We have four months until the wedding, how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling good and surprisingly relaxed. I think this long engagement is exactly what I needed. My mother has been giving me shit about it, but it's all good".

"As long as you're happy. So we don't have much else to do but catering, music, and the rings right".

"Yup and my fiancé needs his tuxedo".

"I thought he had one?"

"He did, I hated it. Why he even thought he should wear a navy tuxedo for our wedding was crazy. That's what I get for letting his friend get the final say" Avery said and they laughed.

"What's he gonna get now, black?"

"Yes. I like the look of a traditionally aesthetic wedding".

"I get it, it's gonna be very cute" Summer agreed.

Summer left the library around 6 and headed home for the night. She was ahead on studying for the most part so she could make herself some dinner instead of ordering in and just relax.
She parked in her garage and headed into the lobby.

"Hi" Connor said as she followed his voice to one of the lounging areas there. She quickly scanned the area, he sat with his laptop open and a cup of coffee.

"Hi. How long have you been here?".

"A couple of hours, you haven't exactly been forthcoming with your schedule".

"Sorry about that, it's uh, it's been hectic".

"Do you think I could come up, give me five minutes and I'll leave you alone".
