Straight 'A' Student

Chapter 41

Connor grabbed the his bag from his trunk and went inside before heading up to see Summer. It was always the best part of his day.

"Hi, beautiful" he leaned down to kiss her.

"Hey, how was your day?"

"Busy. I was going to go to the store, but then I figured it wasn't worth it since we leave soon".

"Good thinking, we'll do it when we get back. I'm gonna go out to drink with the girls tomorrow. They wanted to hang out before I left".

"No problem. I'll work late" he said and Summer nodded before following him back downstairs. She made him a dinner plate while they caught each other up on their days. Two days from now, she and Connor were flying off to meet Eleanor and Joshua in Hawaii. Summer and Josh were able to take time off from work and since Connor had spring break at the college, it wasn't much of an issue for him. He spoke with Spencer about putting in a few hours during the trip but not taking any official time off.

They spent Christmas in Texas and New Years back home in Boston. It was difficult to make sure they were splitting time evenly, but they tried their best. They've preoccupied their time with work, dates, and wedding planning.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Summer said as he came back from putting their plates in the kitchen.

"Mhm".

"How much would it bother you if I didn't make Taylor a bridesmaid?"

"None. Did she say something?"

"No, no. I've been working on my bridesmaid gift boxes so I just wanted to finalize the list. I still haven't decided one way or the other, but I wanted your thoughts".

"I think you guys got off on the wrong foot and it's okay if you're not there with her yet".

"But it is your wedding, babe, I'm sure she wants to feel a part of it".

"One day at a wedding isn't the end of the world, she'll still be my sister. I won't have my wife feeling uncomfortable or judged at her own wedding. Whatever you choose, I'm behind it".

"I love you" Summer smiled.

"I love you, angel".

"And I'm gonna run to the store tomorrow, I need a few things for the trip and totally forgot".

"Before you go out?"

"Mhm, in the morning".

"I prefer to spend the morning with you. Let's go now if you're up for it".

"Of course, let me grab a sweater" she smiled and went to the room quickly. They drove to the store about 15 minutes away and went inside.
"Okay, so the wedding is in like 7 months".

"Mhm".

"I wanna start working out with you. Going on your runs, going to the gym".

"Really?"

"Mhm. Of course I like my body-".

"I love your body for the record" he teased as he grabbed her sides and she giggled.

"Trust me I know. But aside from my occasional Pilates class, I don't work out much and I'd like to start again. I miss it".

"Alright then, let's make it happen, beautiful" he said and she nodded.

The next morning Connor got up first, it was 11:15. He loved mornings where they could sleep in together. It usually meant sex and breakfast in bed.
