Summer parked in the garage, grabbed her work bag and the couple of grocery bags she had before going inside. She had been at Shell for two weeks and has been super swamped. But it was Valentines, so she wanted to cook and have a date night. She decided to make surf and turf with roasted potatoes for dinner, getting it done before Connor got home.

After her interview, they called her back in for a second round of interviews less than a week later and Summer had the job the next day. Since then, it's been onboarding, training, and getting to know her coworkers. The job was hard, as expected, but she was enjoying it.

When dinner was almost finished, she went to change and get ready. She put on a black skims dress, something simple but sexy, and threw some loose curls in her hair. She added jewelry and perfume then went out to finish cooking and set the table.
Almost twenty minutes later, the front door opened and Connor walked in on the phone. He smiled when he saw her.

"Let me go, I just got home. Yes, thank you, we'll talk soon" he said before hanging up the phone and setting his stuff down by the couch.

"Hi" Summer smiled as he came over and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Hey, angel. That smells amazing".

"Thank you. Happy Valentine's Day".

"Happy Valentine's Day, baby. You're absolutely stunning" he complimented as he took a step back to admire her figure in the dress.

"Thank you, baby. Go sit, I'm gonna bring dinner".

"Okay" he nodded as she softly pushed him out of the kitchen. She plated the food, filet mignon and shrimp as the main meal and the potatoes on the side, then took that down first. She grabbed a bottle of champagne and two glasses.

"This looks amazing, thank you" Connor said.

"You're welcome, I hope you like it. How was work?"

"Work was good, I think I'll have to travel soon".

"Where to?"

"New York, then I'll probably go to Philly".

"Okay, just let me know".

"I will, angel. How was your day?" Connor asked.

"Busy, I feel swamped with this one job. I don't know how you do three" she laughed a bit.

"It just takes getting used to, as soon as you catch your flow it's gonna feel like clockwork".

"I hope so. This is my last week of training, so I'll really have no choice next week. Gonna be thrown into the deep end. One of my coworkers that got hired with me might not make it very long".

"Why's that?"

"Because he's a know it all, except in an imposter kind of way. He barely does the training, all of our trainers complain to the supervisors about him not doing any work already".

"How many people got hired with you?"

"There's three of us. Me, him, and another girl".

"Yea, makes sense. I've found that men are more likely to slack off, women in this field have a better work ethic".

"Gotta work your ass off to make it" Summer agreed "oh right. If you do travel, please don't travel between March 5th and March 7th".

"Avery's wedding, I know, angel" he nodded and she smiled at his keen memory. She liked that he did a good job of keeping up with her friend's lives even if he didn't care. He could listen to her rant about anything for hours.
