THE HEMMINGS TWINS

CHAPTER 20

LILIA P.O.V

Dax was now a month old and today he had his very first check up with the doctor to see if he was growing right and if everything seemed normal. It was rather early in the morning when I decided to call Michael who of course, didn't answer his phone.

'Hey, Mike, it's Lil, Dax has a doctors appointment in a few hours at noon, was wondering if you would like to tag along. Call me back, bye.' I said before hanging up. Dax was still sleeping so I decided to quickly shower before he woke up. Of course as soon as I stepped into the shower, his cry rang through the baby monitor. "Mom!" I shouted and go no answer. "Jack!" I shouted even louder.

"What?" I heard him yell back.

"Can you grab the baby for me! I'm in the shower!" I shouted before I heard the cries die down. Once I stepped out, I quickly got dressed and went to my room to find it empty. I walked down the hall to Jack's room to find them both sleeping together. I smiled a little before I tweeted a few pictures of them. I did my hair and makeup before going downstairs to make a bottle. I also got Dax's outfit all set for the day.

"Lil! I think he's hungry!" Jack shouted and I went into his room and handed him the bottle.

"I'm going to try and call Michael again. Burp him when it get's to two." I answered before I headed back down to my room and started folding laundry while calling Michael who of course, didn't answered again. I sighed before throwing the phone on the bed and folding the rest of the laundry.

"Here." Jack said handing me Dax. I got him dressed and placed him in his seat. I had an hour before his appointment but I wanted to go and see if Michael was home so I said bye to Jack before I headed over there.

"Michael?" I called into the house. I knew his parents probably weren't home so I just walked in. I walked around the bottom floor before I headed up the stairs. "Michael?" I asked before pushing his bedroom door open. He wasn't there. Where could he possibly be? I sighed before I headed back down the stairs and placing Dax into the car again before heading over to the Starbucks down the street to burn some time.

"Lilia?" Cole asked and I mentally cursed. I can never get away from him.

"Hey!" I said hugging him. "What's up?" I asked as we moved up in line.

"Nothing, heading to see some family." He said. "But can't survive without my coffee." He said and I laughed a little because I knew exactly what he meant. "What are you two cuties up to today?" He asked.

"He has a doctors appointment and then we are going to go home and do nothing." I answered.

"What does he have a doctors appointment for?" He asked looking at him as he sat sleeping in his seat on the floor.

"It's just a one month check up." I answered. The line moved even further.

"Michael isn't going with you?" He asked and I sighed. I was a little sad that he didn't call me back and he wasn't home.

"No." I answered. There were some days where Michael seemed like an amazing dad and then there were other's where he made it seem like he had no idea who Dax was. I ordered my drink and then Cole ordered right after me. I went to give the guy the money and he stopped me.

"I got it." He said and I smiled before thanking him. We both waited for our drinks. "What do you think the doctor is going to say?" He asked.

"Try to breast feed more unless I don't want to do it anymore." I answered shrugging. I had decided to stop breastfeeding because Michael had him for half the time and I can't pump for four days in a row unless Michael wanted me to go over there every day to give him new bottles.
