THE HEMMINGS TWINS

CHAPTER 37

LILIA P.O.V

24 weeks pregnant

Michael had been flirting with me for weeks and I was getting so confused about it all. He would make sex jokes and then take it back a few minutes later saying that we would never have sex again.

I huffed in confusion. It was nearing two in the morning, I hadn't slept since five in the morning the day before and Michael had been typing for three minutes. I had no idea what he was going to say or if he was going to make some stupid joke and I was more than worried.

The boys would be home within the week and Michael had asked multiple times if he could see Dax and I would allow it to happen as long as I was somewhat near Dax while he was around.

"Let's go out to coffee when I get back." He texted me. "Like a date." He sent another. I sighed. I had no idea what to do. I loved Michael, I did. I loved that he gave me two children but he did cheat on me and it's so hard to just get back together with a cheater. Once a cheater always a cheater.

"I don't want to date you." I wrote back. Did I want to get back together with Michael? Sure but only because we have kids together. I didn't want to be with him for any other reason besides that.

"Okay." After that I put the phone down and went to bed knowing damn well that Dax would be up bright and early tomorrow morning.

*FEW DAYS LATER*

My parents had gone to go get Luke from the airport and I sat at home. I let them take Dax with them so at least he could know that his father was in fact alive. Karen knew that she wasn't allowed to take him back to her house without my consent so I wasn't worried. I was super excited to see Luke. We had planned a huge dinner at his favorite restaurant and I was more than excited.

"Lilia!" He shouted coming through the front door and lifted me into his arms. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." I wrapped my arms around him. "Don't squish my baby." I said laughing. "She's big." I commented looking at my belly.

"She is." He placed his hand on my stomach and I smiled. "How much longer?" He asked.

"16 weeks." I smiled. I was very excited to meet my little girl. After having a baby boy I would love to know how different it's going to be to raise a girl. Everyone says that girls are the best when they're little and then they grow up to be monsters. My mom says she knows from experience.

"Michael said you're going out to coffee later." He said raiding the fridge.

"Yeah, he wants to talk." I said jumping up on the counter. "I hope he doesn't want to get back together."

"I'm sure he won't ask but we are going on vacation next week. Maybe he's going to see if you and Dax want to go." I shrugged. I wasn't sure if I should go on a vacation with him. "I think you should go. You need to get out of the house."

"I don't know if I want to be stuck with Michael on vacation." He shrugged.

*****

I made my way to the coffee shop that Michael wanted to meet at. I quickly grabbed a coffee and went to sit down to wait for him. I had left Dax with Luke who was planning to take him to the park. I was really debating if I should bring Dax on vacation to Bali. I knew that we would both enjoy it and it would be nice to get out of the house. Also, in a few weeks I would be giving birth and it would be amazing to just go relax somewhere.
