Jumping down from a catwalk and scaring away a few Outimals, Nearic puts away the medical document, "I would feel sorry for him, but the bastard had it coming."
"Understatement of the century..." Catnap muttered.
We explore the room and spot a few things; firstly, there's a large turbine on the far left wall surrounded by magnets, before it lay a platform that had several computers and levers for interaction. Secondly, three large screens to the right wall had red shapes illuminated on them: diamond, circle, triangle. Thirdly, a large mass of poppy gel was piled up right next to them.
"Still wish that Head Researcher was here to suffer by my claws though," the feline growled.
"We can worry about how to handle him later," Nearic replied, "You take a loo around on the upper level, I'll take care of this little puzzle here." He gestures to the consoles and levers.
The uncle nods, "Alright, be careful of the rats," he says before walking off.
The Survivor huffs amusedly as he looks at the Outimals hiding under the platform, snarling at him. "Don't worry," he grins as he pats his hatchet, "I've got it covered."
Walking up the small set of steps, Glowby suddenly alerted invisible ink nearby. Following his lead, the teen called up the Blacklight and looked around, spotting shapes next to the levers. He smirked as he looked at each one, "I'll admit, that's clever."
Finding the right set, Nearic pulled the levers and the turbines slowly stopped rotating, which let him see past the turbines for a moment before they eventually went still and blocked the path forward, "Damn."
"Don't worry," Catnap called out, "I think I got it."
Suddenly, the closest turbine started moving again, slowly turning counterclockwise until the path was open, "Quick, now the other one!" the boy called out as he fired a hand towards the magnets.
Catnap ran to the other console and pressed the button, turning the turbine further down the tunnel. Once complete, Catnap ran after his nephew as he sailed through by the magnets, "Now, let's find Giblet and his... friend."
"Yeah, let's," Nearic hopped down to the ground and looked left and right, the path blocked towards the latter, "Uh... you may need to hold me," he said as he looked down the pit that was the tunnel's left path.
The sleeping critter sighed as he picked up his nephew with one arm, "Hold on tight." He approached slowly before gripping the edge and sat down, "Ready?" Nearic nodded, "Geronimo."
And jumped.
.
.
.
Catnap lands with a loud thud as the concrete beneath his hindpaws craters under the force of his weight. Catnap looks around the dimly lit room and spots not much of note besides the two pressure locks and what looks like two corresponding, sliding, battery modules. He hums as he releases his nephew and gets down onto all fours again, only for Giblet's voice to start coming through the speakers.
"Y-yeah, that's what I heard. Gas. Mining Charges. She was gonna burn the whole place down." Nearic and Catnap look back at each other in sorrow, "Her heart's always been in the right place but... man, that's girl's been behind glass too long."
"Tell me about it," Nearic muttered.
"Ugh," the boy groans upon spotting the locks, "I hate these things." Nearic rubs his right shoulder, the ache in it being quite bothersome.
"How about I do these while you rest your arm," Catnap suggests, "you've been using it quite a bit since we entered the labs."
Nearic sighs, "I'll take it, just please, for the love of god, don't break it." The boy walks over to a set of boxes and sits down on them, "I'll just sit here and take a second, I'm really tired..."
