Overdue Check-Up (Poppy Playtime) [On Hold]

(Chapter 5) Part 26: Again, Really?!

"We should be getting close now," Dan remarked as he looked around the hall.

"Yeah," Nearic nodded before turning around and walking backwards to face Dan, "The closer to I.T, the closer we get to finally getting the means to kill the Prototy-"

Nearic flies through the window and bounces off the ground before tumbling into a shelving unit, groaning weakly as he desperately tries to get air back into his lungs.

"NEARIC!!!" Dan cries in shock as he looks into the room his brother was suddenly thrown into before looking back at the blue appendage that tears a bigger hole in the ceiling, "Oh shIT!!!"

He quickly vaults through the window, cutting his hand on the broken glass, just as Huggy descends onto the floor. Dan quickly runs to his brother and help shim to his feet, looking back to see Huggy stepping into the room.

Nearic shakes his head and looks up just as his brother shouts, "Come on, we need to run!"

The teen's eyes widen upon seeing Huggy in the room, roaring at them, "Good idea!" he wheezes.

They both turn and run through the warehouse, weaving through the several shelves in their path. Huggy overturns one and blocks their path, but the brothers crouch and move and quickly as they can under it, infuriating Huggy as a result. The large toy knocks over a large stack of crates as they get through, forcing them to run right as fast as they can as Huggy charges at them.

"Well then," Dan starts as they turn a corner, "this is nightmarishly nostalgic!" he jokes.

"Shut up, Dan!" Nearic shouts as he fires his blue hand at the scanner ahead.

"Even more nostalgic," he adds loudly, looking back.

"For fuck's sake!" Nearic glares at his brother.

The scan completes just as they reach the door and they pass through, the door closing right behind them and locking Huggy out. However, the blue toy hasn't quit yet and is currently banging on the door trying to break it down.

Nearic starts throwing crates and furniture over the door as he shouts, "Open a door, now!"

Dan hurriedly looks around, quickly spotting two doors connected to a battery slot, only one of them having a battery. The older brother quickly tries opening it, but it wouldn't budge, and the gap in the doors from the attempt shows that it's been blocked off.

"Dan, hurry!" Nearic orders.

"I'm hurrying!" he shouts back as he grabs the battery, "Please don't be blocked, please don't be blocked!"

He plugs in the battery into the other slot and tries the door, "Yes!" he turns around, "This-" the barricade suddenly breaks open, knocking Nearic back, "WAY!!!"

Looking ahead, the brothers spot Kissy, Dogday, and Catnap at the end of the hall, all three of which look back as Huggy roars.

"Oh no!" Catnap shouts upon spotting Huggy.

"Hurry," Dogday waves them over frantically, "we'll bock him off!"

both run through the open door and Huggy gives chase. The hallway was clear of any obstruction halfway through, but the second half was covered in Poppy Gel, obviously obstructing the way. Nearic growls as he hops over some before weaving around another while Dan weaves through all of it, barely keeping up with his brother.

Nearic stops at a large mass of Poppy Gel blocking the path completely and look ahead, spotting a magnet mounted over the next doorway, "Hang on!" he reaches back and grabs Dan before firing a hand at the magnet.
