[Chapter 5] Part 18: The Fate of Miss Gracie

Entering the kitchen, Nearic looked around and saw the many plates, owls, and utensils strewn around; it was a messy environment, one that Lilly seemed to agree with, "Oh look at this mess."

Nearic looked over at her as she turned to him from the oven, "We need to tidy up," one of her braids points to a book on the island counter, "Return the recipe book to the nook upstairs while I get everything ready," she smiles.

The human nods as he grabs it, "Will do."

He turns and walks away, leaving the room. He looks at the book as he makes his way down the hallway, finding it was a little minimalistic. It was a pink book with a yellow lining around the cover, a few stickers on the front with blue text labelling what it was. It was also quite a thick book, filled with hundreds of pages.

"This is a bit excessive for food recipes," Nearic hums before entering the living room.

Taking the stairs and walking to the only hallway up there, Nearic looks around for the nook with a space for the book; eventually finding one at the end of the hallway, but as soon as he was about to put it away, the speakers came alive and Poppy's humming was heard. Nearic paused and looked up at the speakers, frowning in confusion.

"What is she doing?" he muttered.

"Poppy, shut the fuck up," Dan whispered over the speakers, "If she hears you, we'll be-"

"Shut it!" Lilly suddenly shouted over them, "You've always been a bad toy! When he gets here, he'll see it too!" she giggles.

Nearic shakes his head and puts the book away, but when he does, the wall the bookcase was connected to unlocked and tilted open.

Nearic stepped back in surprise and looked down both ends of the hallway, "Oh shit," he muttered, looking back at the now open wall, "What the hell do I do now?"

Biting his lip in worry, he carefully pulled the wall open further and stepped inside. It looked to be a small children's room, with small pink tables and chairs, a cubby mounted on the left wall, a sofa lay on the opposite wall from Nearic, a lamp stood next to it, but what really stood out was the Lilly Lovebraids poster that seemed hastily put in place, covering something. The human walked over and tried peeling it off, but the glue was strong enough to keep it too much together.

Remembering what was in the attic, he quickly walked out of the room and pulled himself up there. He fired his Element Hand to the Fire Patch and took the charge before hopping back down. He ran back into the room and fired the hand to the poster, burning it away and revealing a small hole into what looks like catwalks outside of the building. The strange thing was that there was no fake plants or sky, it was just darkness besides a few lights above the path.

Nearic peeks through the hole, and upon finding no danger, he carefully climbed through and stepped onto the catwalk, "I got to be quick, can't let her get suspicious. Hopefully, Poppy's humming keeps her distracted."

The Survivor slowly follows the catwalks, eyeing the area carefully to ensure there wasn't danger, but as he approached the turn, he started to hear something through the left wall. Stopping at the muffled sounds, he quietly approached and put his ear against the wall.

Nearic listened closely through the wall hoping to hear something, and he did, "You can tell me, it's not like I have the power to kill if I don't like it, like I would ever try," a voice said, and Nearic's eyes widened as soon as he heard it.

He stepped back with a gasp, "Uncle Nap?"

Moments Earlier

Within Lilly's room, Catnap has his mouth wrapped around a rope of purple hair, growling as he tried to chew the annoying chain that was wrapped around a nail in the ground and his own neck. Dogday also chained down by the rope, lay on the ground, paws under his head and back legs tucked inward to reduce taken space; all while he watched the purple feline growl and chew uselessly.
