Overdue Check-Up (Poppy Playtime) [On Hold]

[Chapter 5] Part 14: The Chase Continues

They enter a long empty hallway with nothing but rubber cushions lining the walls with the occasional vent on their left.

"We're going to get jumped, aren't we?" Nearic asks as he stares down the red door on the other end of the path.

"Maybe," Catnap replies.

Soon after, an alarm blares as the door rises up, revealing a familiar, slender, blue toy. Nearic groans and looks at the only vent with a red light illuminating it, "Come on!" he shouts before running towards it.

Huggy roars as the vent opens up, allowing access. Nearic charges ahead as Catnap follows close behind, "Don't slow down!"

"No shit, Catnap!"

They both run as fast as they can through the narrow tunnel, Huggy thudding quickly behind them. Eventually, they run into a new room filled with toys and fabric streets, the walls around the room obviously held up with wooden planks and screws. Catnap hastily picks up a wall and chucks it at the blue toy, knocking him to the ground before whacking it away and chasing again.

Nearic enters yet another tunnel and runs as fast as he can, Catnap close behind, but as the vent started to darken, the combined weight of both uncle and nephew broke the metal plating below them. They fell and hit the ground hard, Nearic crying out in pain as his right arm impacts the floor, Catnap growled in annoyance and looked back just as Huggy jumped down, growling. The feline hopped in front of Nearic and stood at the ready, Huggy stepped forward before immediately backing away from Catnap's claws.

Nearic blearily pushed himself to his knees as a projector nearby turned on, catching Huggy's attention. He hopped over and stood before a screen with Kissy's form waving slowly with Ms. Gracie's voice played in the background. Huggy snapped out of it and smashed through the wall, destroying the projection and revealing a large room beyond the mini play area they stood in.

Catnap peeked out and saw Huggy staring off into space in the middle of the room, before the toy shook his head and started lumbering around, eyes glazed over in deep thought. The feline ducked back in and checked on his nephew, pointing at the human before making a thumbs up with a tilt of his head. Catching the memo, Nearic nodded as he slowly stood back up on his feet. Nearic glanced behind his uncle and stiffened, tugging on one of his arms before running to hide, Catnap running over to a corner between the wrecked wall and the large opening next to it.

Huggy paused outside of the room, glancing down into both rooms and thinking for a moment, before growling softly and walking on. Nearic looked out into the other room, which proved to only be one room with small, enclosed spaces designed within it, and spotted Huggy walking away, dragging his feet as his right arm swung around loosely from the movement of his steps. He looked around and spotted a door to the left, red writing (most likely blood) painted the doors, purple plastic braids lined the doorframe; however, it was also connected to several large battery ports that kept it locked.

Nearic looks back at Huggy, who is walking between rooms opposite them further down the room. He looks back at Catnap and whispers, "I found us a way out," and points at the doors behind the feline.

He looks back and looks at the door, then pales, "Oh, hell no!" he looks back at his nephew and shakes his head, "No way, she will kill us!" he whispers.

"So will he," Nearic points outside, "and he can keep up with you, we don't have a lot of room for you two to fight either, he will have the advantage. We need to get out of here and escape Huggy, that means going through there, without him following us."

"You want me to keep him busy while you run again?" Catnap glared, "No way, I'm not letting you go on your own again, she could fine you!"

Nearic huffs, "I know that. Which is why I need you to look around, there are batteries around here," he gestures to the space around them, "I need you to find them and bring them to the door so I can open it, I'm going to look if I can distract him."
