[Chapter 5] Part 20: The Special Guest

Braids are pulling back from Nearic's face, and he gasps for air, stale, dry oxygen filling his lungs. Not pleasant, but it's good enough... even while he coughs harshly from the taste of the air.

He shakes his head, "Man, I really need to get out of here. Have I gotten that used to the air here that I didn't notice the quality until now?"

He looks up and spots everyone at the table, including the toys he brought to the table earlier, Catnap and Dogday were laying down behind Lilly with braids around their necks, both seemingly too scared to break out of it, Kissy and Poppy sat next to each other on Nearic's right with braids tying them to their chairs, and Dan sat across from him in a similar state. Upon looking down at himself, he found that he was similarly, but with his right arm resting at the table almost level with his shoulder.

Lilly takes a sip from her cup before she glances at him, then double takes. She grins excitedly as she puts her cup down on her plate, "Oh, our special guest is going to be thrilled," she giggles.

"He's going to kill them all," 'Candy' says, to which Lilly gasps in denial, "No, Candy," she shakes her head, "No Poppy," she gestures to the doll, "She's always been his favourite!" She slaps the table and grins at Poppy menacingly.

The tiny doll looks at Nearic worriedly, and so does Kissy and Dan while the Critters glance at each other both beginning to shake in fear.

"I think she's a little Asking Annie," Lilly says, getting everyone to look at her again. She gasps dramatically before looking between Poppy and Candy as she giggles, "She is a little Asking Annie."

She rolls her eyes as she starts mocking Poppy, "Oooooh, please take me out of my case. Oooooh, please rescue the orphans," Lilly starts to hold Poppy up over the table, who struggles faintly to get free, "Oooooh, please blow up the whole factory and BURN," she slaps the table, "EVERYONE,," her voice gains a reverb, "ALIVE!"

Suddenly, the room shakes for a moment, getting everyone's attention. Dan jumps in his seat as his eyes widen n horror, Poppy looks up in worry, Kissy looks around frantically, Dogday growls slightly as the hairs on his neck stand up, and Catnap... Catnap cowers. Nearic watches as he shrinks down as low as he can, his ears folding back, and a faint whimper leaving his voice box.

"Oh!" she smiles and clasps her hands as she puts Poppy back down to her seat, "Our special guest is here!" she gestures to a wall behind Dan before throwing her head back and laughing hysterically.

Dan struggles to look behind him as everyone watches ten familiar metal needles puncture the wall, both curling robotically to grab a different side of the puncture before slowly being peeled back. The gap revealed two arms colored yellow and blue connected to the needles, the wall is then ripped open for a large creature to step through, it's head falling forward as three jester-like protrusions cover the face. Nearic groans as something in his head aches, its legs were several metal mobile spikes that took the appearance of spider legs, metal casings were mounted to look like a ribcage, a small orange light above it was installed just before the upper body of a jester was connected. A cranking sound was heard before the creature's head snapped towards them, a mash up of lengthy teeth making a permanent grin as it's eye flashes red for a moment, and Nearic gasped.
