Karlie woke up the next morning, feeling like shit. She had spent most of the night crying, trying to think of exactly where her relationship went wrong. Replaying the conversation she had with Taylor didn't help matters. It just made things worse.
"How could she possibly think I don't make her a priority? I've done everything for her. I've begged her to travel with me, I surprised her with a trip to Italy. I even drove three hours to see her, just to be able to hold her in my arms and kiss her. What the fuck does she want from me?"
Karlie became angry, angry at the fact that she felt her girlfriend didn't appreciate her. Angry that she's poured all of herself into this relationship and for what. What does it even matter anymore.
She decided to go for a run to try and clear her mind.
Karlie ran for as long and as far as her legs would take her. There was a hill that the model would always go to when she was younger, when she needed to clear her thoughts. Karlie made her way to the top of it as she slumped over, struggling for breath. More like a mountain than a hill. I definitely don't remember it being that steep," Karlie thought to herself as she sat down and caught her breath. She pulled her knees into her chest, as she overlooked the town below.

Back in Nashville, Taylor joined her parents for breakfast. Austin was back at college, which made the singer sad, since he always seemed to say the right things to get her to laugh.
Andrea asked what was on her agenda for the day. The singer just looked up at her and shrugged her shoulders.
"Why don't we go for a ride?" Andrea suggested, thinking about the countless drives they used to take when Taylor was younger. Those were the days when Taylor would need to escape the hurtful words from the girls in school.
"I don't think so mom. I think I'm gonna go for a walk instead."
After breakfast, Taylor got dressed and went for a walk. She definitely wasn't herself. Her outfit was a pair of running leggings with a baggy sweatshirt and sneakers. Her hair was in a messy ponytail and her face was bare of any makeup. The only hint of color was her red puffy eyes that she disguised with sunglasses.
She decided to walk around her family's property, not being in the mood to meet fans, if she were to be out around town.
She walked for what felt like hours, even though she knew it hadn't been. Suddenly, she stopped in her footsteps, as tears began to well in her eyes. There in front of her was the treehouse. Flashbacks rushed through her mind as she made her way up the stairs. She reached above the frame of the door and grabbed the hidden spare key. As she entered, a smile graced her face as she thought about one of the last times she was there. She began laughing to herself when she reminisced about the day her and Karlie spent 7 hours together and how nervous Karlie was to hurry back before her parents began to think that we were 'doing it'...even though they were. She thought about how they shared heart wrenching memories of the girls they once loved and the warm memories of what their future plans would be...together.
As she sat on the bench looking outside, she remembered the feeling she had when she sat here last. How Karlie sat behind her, with her arms around her waist and kissed her gently. The touch of her girlfriend made her feel calm and protected. She remembered telling the model how much she loved her and how her feelings for Dianna could never compare for the feelings for her. Taylor could feel her cheeks blush as she recalled what happened next.
Taylor got up and sat in the middle of the floor. This was the same place her and Karlie made love the last time she was here. She pulled her knees into her chest and lowered her head as the tears began to fall.
