Josh's POV

I wake up to the sounds of shrieking. I look to my side to see Lily hiding underneath her covers as she was scared of the ear-splitting noises. I turn to my other side to find Tessa clutched on to her ankle and screaming words like "No!" or "Don't hurt him!". One of the things I was shocked to hear was my name "Josh!"

I immediately removed the blankets off of me and went to Tess. She was constantly screaming and crying. I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her up and down to wake her up. Yes, it does sound crazy but there was no other choice.

She took in a sharp, deep breath before he eyes shot open. Her wide eyes disappeared as she focused back into reality. She grabbed a hold of my t-shirt before hugging my torso and making my shirt wet with her tears. I caressed her back to calm her down. "She's here. You need to go. She's going to hurt you," she sobbed. I wasn't going to leave her here alone with whoever 'her' is.

"Shush," I shushed her. "Don't worry, nobody is hurt and nobody will get hurt." I stated to let her know she was safe. "Lily, go grab a glass of water. Quickly." I instructed Lily. She nodded her head and ran to the kitchen. A few minutes later, Lily was back with a glass of water in her tiny hands.

"Here," I gestured Tess to take the glass and drink it. She did what I told her and gulped down half the glass before handing it back to me. I placed the glass on the table beside her before asking, "Are you okay?"

She nodded and gave me a smile to satisfy me. I returned the kind gesture with a hug. Her cold body instantly being heated with my warmth. I could feel her tapping her fingers, to the rhythm of my heart beat, on my knee. I smiled at how she'd thankfully calmed down.

"Let's go and eat breakfast," I suggested.

"Are you sure you wanna go to college?" I asked, she said she was in the perfect condition to go, but I didn't believe that.

"Yes, I already told you. It's just one of the fun things about being Schizophrenic." she groaned before changing her tone into direct sarcasm.

"You go and get ready while I wait, then we head to my place, then off to school," I stated calmly.

She gave a quick nod before heading towards the stairs, but stopped at the feeling of Lily's voice. "Can I come?" she innocently asked.

She nodded before grabbing Lily's hand and taking her up the stairs. I seated myself on the sofa and skimmed through some channels on her TV.

It had been half an hour and neither Tess or Lily had come downstairs. I decided to go see what the two were up to. I went up the stairs and knocked on Tess's door to get her to open it.

A few moments later, I fink Lily opening the door only to show half her body. "Yeah?" She questioned.

"Where's Tess?" I asked.

"She's having a shower." she murmured. I gave her a small nod before walking into her room.

I look around to see a complete mess. There were ripped skinny jeans lying on the floor and several different Green Day and Nirvana T-Shirts.

Well, now I know that she has a good taste in music.

I heard the shower switch off and some rustling coming from her bathroom. I sat on the edge of her bed waiting for her to come out

"Um, Lily? Could you grab me some clothes from my wardrobe while I clean up?" Tess asked Lily.

She repeatedly lifted her hand to brush her hair behind her ear while frantically trying to clean her room. She stopped the cleaning as soon as Lily gave her her clothes.

"I'm gonna wait downstairs," I said. She gave me a quick nod before heading towards the bathroom.

But before I left, I had something to say to Lily. "You better not say anything  to her. Do you understand?" I gritted through my teeth. She gave me a small nod, not keeping eye contact with me. I gave her a stern look before heading downstairs, leaving Lily trembling with fear in Tess's room.

Why am I so scary to her?
