[25] Tease Me?

Tess's POV

As soon as I enter the kitchen I see Josh, sitting at the breakfast bar, smirking at me while having a spoonful of Coco Pops.

"Tessa dear, are you alright? You don't seem very well." Josh's mother, Rose, asks me while buttering a golden, brown toast.

"Oh. I'm okay ; just a small stomach ache." I replied in my kindest voice so that my frustration wouldn't be noticeable.

Purposely, Josh cleared his throat and decided to speak up.
"You sure, Tess? I mean Lily told me she heard 'horrible sounds' coming from the toilet." A bigger smirk was now covering his face.
But that smirk faded away as soon as Lily yelled while running down the stairs. "Momma! Joey is lying! I didn't say that!" She stood in front of Josh with her arms folded. She looked like a very, very young mother.

I fixed a smirk on my face and stared at Josh while he frowned as his attempt to embarrass me had completely failed.

Ha! In your face, you jerk!

"Anyways let's get going for college. Miss Tessie here wouldn't want to be late would she." He got up from his chair and stood behind me while giving the small of my back a teasing pinch, making me yelp.

Lily giggled at Josh's action make me laugh along with her.
When Josh made his way upstairs, Lily sat down beside me and curled her hand to make a tunnel shape. She brought her hand closer towards my ear before whispering, "Joey likes you. He told me yesterday."

A flush of heat ran up my neck, to my jaw and into my cheeks. I was pretty sure I was probably as bright as cotton candy.

"Lily, what are you doing?" Josh's voice made Lily jump away from me before replying with a "Nothing." And headed upstairs.

"What did she say to you?" Josh gave me a serious look as he stared directly in my eyes, which was kinda freaking me out.

Why is he acting so serious about aLily talking to me?

"Oh, she was just telling me that you were lying before," I lied. Way to keep the whole 'No lies, no secrets' thing going.

He replied with a simple "Oh" and made his way out the front door. I put on my shoes and followed him.

As soon as I caught up with him, he interwined our fingers together. "What are you doing?" I laughed.

"You know, the typical guy who rides a death machine just being friendly." He mused, a huge grin that wouldn't disappear anytime soon, on his face.
"So how was your toilet session this morning? Did you find it bloody irritating?" I gave him a 'Are you serious?' look and filled my arms on my chest before making a breathy humph sound. I playfully turned my head to the opposite side causing Josh to laugh.

"Are you trying to tease me, Princess?" He smirked.

I didn't say anything to him and continued walking forward with my nose in the air.
All I could hear from Josh was the constant sound of him chuckling at my failed attempt at teasing him.

As soon as I reached the college, my eyes caught a glimpse of a familiar face. Luke. The guy who almost killed me with his car.
That's when an idea popped up in my head. When I first meet Luke at the hospital, Josh seemed very tensed and frustrated at the fact that I was with Luke. He seemed almost jealous.

I walked up to Luke and tapped him in his shoulder to catch his attention.
"Um, hi. Luke right?" I started the conversation. Wow. What happened to shy, quiet Theresa?

"Hey. Tessa right?" He smiled at me, revealing his pearl white teeth and adorable dimples.

"Yeah" I smiled back at him as a greeting.

"Again, I am so sorry for what happened that night. I wasn't concentrating on driving; I had a lot going on in my mind." He looked slightly guilty and nervous.

"Like I said before, don't worry." I remarked.

I jumped at a sudden touch on my shoulder, I turned around to see Josh, his eyebrows furrowed and arms folded.

"Where did you go, Tess? I was looking for you." He gritted through his clenched jaws.

Hr looked pretty scary. He grabbed my forearm and pulled me away from Luke while giving him death glares.

He yanked my arm and pushed me forward so that I faced him.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" He screamed in my face.
