Tess's POV

Today is the first day of college.

It's 5:00am and I can't stop thinking about how I will end up. I decide to get up and have a shower and then go downstairs to eat breakfast.

I enter the kitchen to find empty beer bottles, lying around on the floor.

Dad. Definitely dad. Who else could it be?

I sighed in disappointment and decided to eat some porridge, to make me feel a little bit better about the future events that will be taking place at college.

It's now 7:00am. I take my time in wearing my clothes because I have a lot of time till I have to leave. I decide on wearing a black tank top and skinny jeans.

The weather was warm so I didn't wear a sweater. I straightened my hair and left it down, so it was hanging just past my shoulders.

I put on my converse and left the house without saying a thing to my parents. The journey to the college wasn't a long so I walked it while listening to some Green Day.

When I reached the gate, I saw so many different people. Some were talking in groups, some eating and a few making out. This made me feel so uncomfortable. I'm not like these people.

What will they think of me? The same question repeated over and over again with every step I take and every move I make.

I decided to sit on a wooden bench that had chipped paint and some sharp bits of wood. I listen to music while pretending to do something so I wouldn't look weird and odd compared to all the other students.

After ten minutes of listening to different artists on my phone, I felt a tap on my shoulder. My body instantly tensed up at the thought of someone next to me. No, go away. I'm not a social person. I was talking to myself in my head until the person spoke.

"Um...Hey,"

He's trying to communicate with me. I was internally screaming as I didn't know what to do.

I looked up to see the same person, from the park, I had saw when Dan decided to torture me. He looked straight into my eyes with his piercing ones, making me even more nervous and embarrassed at the person I am.

Okay, calm down. Try and be confident.

I took a deep breath, slightly convinced that I could talk to this stranger.

"I...I..."

Oh my god, I'm stuttering. Wow! So much confidence. *Sarcasm*

He stopped my stuttering by speaking "Don't worry, its fine you don't have to talk if you don't want to. I'll see you around then,"

He got up and smiled at me before leaving and heading towards the café.

A few moments late, a skinny blonde and a boy walked past me sniggering and pointing. In embarrassment, I put my head down and decided to pretend they weren't there.

I was on the verge of crying until I heard a familiar voice yelling towards my direction. I look up to see the guy from the park - Josh, I think was his name.

"Did you not know it was rude to point and laugh?!" he yelled straight into their faces.

Who is this person and why does he always come up in the worst situations; first Dan and then this?

They two college students walked away, trying to conceal their laughs and sniggers.

I decided to get away from here so that it wouldn't be awkward with Josh. I couldn't make myself look more disliked, could I?

I quickly and quietly gathered my belongings and headed for the library hoping to find some sort of tranquility. I kept my head down and walked straight into the library, hoping that no-one will recognize me.

That was until she stood there, laughing about with her friends. Chloe. The most full-of-herself person ever. She turned around and looked at me. Her eyes running up and down my body making a disgusted face. Her face caked with make-up. She looked like a clown with badly done face paint. Her body was barely covered. She wore a black mini-skirt and a white crop top which was way too small and tight.

She walks up to me and... Hugs me?

"Hey, looks its Tessie!" she happily squealed.

Who is this and where is the snobbish Chloe we all know?

"Um..." I didn't know what to say since there were too many questions swimming around in my brain.

I started making my way to a place where no-one was for some alone time but she stopped me.

"No, no, no. Come with us. We can have a little fun," A grin grew on her face and her glossy pink lips stretched from ear to ear.

She grabbed my forearm and pulled me towards the girls' bathroom.

Oh no
