Luke's POV
How could Dan go to such an extent? Oh my God, how must Tess be feeling?
I had thoughts about calling or texting her but she'd probably be asleep since it was 4am. I wasn't able to go to sleep after all the events that'd happened today. Tyler. That freakin' asshole Tyler. It's his fault; if he'd listen to me and Ashton then nothing would've happened.
I grabbed my phone from my closet before getting out of bed to get changed. I need to see if Tessa's okay. I wore my everyday black skinny jeans, with rips at the knees, and a white t-shirt. I put on my plain black converse and headed out the front door.
As I sat into my car, I realised that I hadn't called Tess to inform her I was coming. I moaned at all the effort I had to put in to simply see Tess. Sliding my phone out of my back pocket, I see a small folded piece of paper with some scribbled, messy handwriting on it.
'You best keep that little Tessie safe or else she'd be having one heck of a trip down memory lane. Dan'
My heartbeat increased at Dan's words. Memory lane? They knew each other before?
I slid the note from Dan back into my pocket before calling Tess."Luke?" she said in a sleepy voice while yawning. Damn it, she was sleeping.
"Um.. Hey. I know it's not the right time but can I come see you? Like right now?" I nervously asked; I knew she'd say something like 'we'll talk tomorrow' or 'I'm tired'.
"Yeah, sure. I'll be downstairs and the front door will be unlocked," she lazily answered back.
"Okay, sweet. I'll see you in ten," I ended the call and slid my phone into my pocket before starting the engine and heading towards Tessa's house.
Tessa's POV
I wake up from the feeling of my phone vibrating underneath my arm. Who was crazy enough to be awake at four in the morning when you have the opportunity to sleep?
Typical- Luke.
"Luke?" I murmured since I was too tired to put energy into speaking.
"Um... Hey. I know it's not the right time buy can I come and see you? Like right now?" He asked, anxiously. Ugh, I was too tired for company but I couldn't be rude.
"Yeah, sure. I'll be downstairs and the front door will be unlocked,"
"Okay, sweet. I'll see you in ten," with that, the call ended and I placed my phone back onto the bedside table.
I heavily slumped back into bed causing Josh to mumble in his sleep and wriggle around. I smiled at him and thought about how I, a socially awkward girl with Schizophrenia and a heck load of other problems, had gotten such a wonderful boyfriend. I examined his body and tattoos wondering what they could mean. The tattoos were visible since he wasn't wearing anything but his jeans.
"Like what you see?" he mumbled, his eyes still closed.
"Josh!" I playfully slapped his arm pretending to show annoyance."Why are you awake so early?" he asked - confused.
"Um, Luke was coming over to talk..." I was curious about his reaction to Luke coming over at four in the morning.
"Why is he coming here now?" his voice had suddenly tensed and his jaw had tightened."I don't know about why he's coming over this early, but he called and said he wanted to talk. He's gonna be here in about five minutes," I gave him an awkward smile before motioning him respond to my words.
"Oh," was all he managed to say. "I'm gonna go back home and rest over there. You two lovebirds can have a long chitchat," he gritted through his teeth. What was his problem with Luke now? He knows that he helped me last night.
