Massive nineteenth century buildings appeared in front of me. It kind of looks like Hogwarts only it's not on the edge of a cliff. I hadn't expected Arlington to be old fashioned considering it specializes in high tech science. The driver dropped me off and I walked towards a gate. I was still admiring the nineteenth century architecture feeling that I hadn't heard a person calling me.
"Are you Ms. Paige?" the security guard in front of the gate asked me.
"Yeah. You guys expecting me?" I answered with confidence.
The guard shrugged as if I was another arrogant genius that the school do not lack of. "Visual confirmation and voice recognition." Another guard said to a box near the gate.
I noticed a camera on the edge of the gate, well hidden but still visible.
"State your name." the guard said.
"Iris Paige." I said. A beeping sound appeared and the box turned green. "Visual confirmation match. Voice recognition match. Welcome Ms. Paige."
The gate opened automatically and I walked in with fascination. The guard noticed my expression and raised an eyebrow. "Never seen these kind of things?" he asked.
"Only in movies." I answered not taking my eyes of the building.
The guard laughed and led me to a room. We stopped in front of the door and I wondered why. "You're already late so make a good impression in there." The guard said.
"Wait, what? I'm late?" I said surprised and immediately smoothen my shirt and pants.
"You'd do fine. First subject, P.E." he said. "Okay, get in and good luck Ms. Paige." The guard bowed down and walked away.
P.E couldn't be that hard in Arlington. I assumed people here are kind of like geeks and nerds that don't rely on physical strength so I'd be fine. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
And I almost died. Again.
