I walked in and turned to close the door and my gut told me to immediately drop to the ground. I'm glad I did. My heart raced and breath quickened with fear.

I stood up slowly facing the spot on the door where my head used to be when I was closing the door. A knife stuck there on the wooden door and I knew I just dodged something fatal. I turned towards the other students with a pale stricken face. Particularly one boy froze on place and dropped everything. They seemed to be frightened as well but not for my sake. The P.E teacher ran to me and saw the knife on the door. "Are you okay?" he asked. I couldn't answer with words so I nodded. He exhaled with relief and pulled out the knife out of its spot. He turned towards the other students. All of them froze on spot.

"Who threw this?" coach asked as he walked around the room, examining and intimidating each and every one of them. Nobody answered. "I will ask one more time." He said while he walked past each person.

"Caleb." coach stopped in front of a dark hair guy. The guy, Caleb, looked confident but I could see his body tremble. Coach went closer to his ear and whispered to him. "Who did this?"

The room was so quiet that I could hear the whisper. Caleb didn't answer but I knew he was intimidated. Everyone knew that he did it, the coach knew it too but he needed Caleb to confess. Caleb tried to stop trembling but he can't. Coach was about to shout and when he did, Caleb would break.

I let out a loud sigh. Everyone in the room looked at me with shock, even coach. Caleb's face relaxed a bit.

"This isn't the best first day I had." I said. "Mr. Coach sir, I know that they aren't supposed to throw knifes around but I have to say, the kid who threw that knife" I continued and point on the knife on coaches hand "is talented."

Every person stared at me with confusion, even Caleb, like I am the dumbest person in the world, maybe I am. I just complimented the person who almost killed me on my first day of school.

"I don't want to ruin anyone else's day so could you please just let this one go, Mr. Coach sir?" I pleaded. I have no idea why I talked in the first place.

The room was silent for a second because everyone was at awe of my stupidity. Coach suddenly blew his whistle which startled everyone in the room. "P.E 's over. Get out!" he shouted.

Everyone started to leave but coach stopped me. "Except you."

I winched. Uh-oh. I turned with my head down towards the coach. "New kid." He said.

"Coach." I answered.

I didn't dare look up. He was way taller than me so he bent down and spoke. "Listen new kid. You will not answer back unless you are told to answer back." He said. I didn't answer anything. "Good. You understand. And as for before" coach continued. I flinched when I heard the word before.

"Good job." He said and walked away. "Dismissed."

I ran out of the room taking my bag with me and almost stumbled on my way out.

Not my best first day.
