"I can't wait to go home." I groaned as I leaned against Sylvia who just laughed and wrapped an arm around me, "Just one more class to go."
I nodded, and linked our arms together once more. "So let's talk boys."
I didn't have the heart to say no, she's my best friend and I'd do anything to make her happy.
"Well there is this guy ..." I lied not meeting her gaze as she became immediately interested.
I really need to think before I speak, I didn't even really know any guy except for -
Oh wait! I could talk about awkward guy from this morning!
"Deets! I want deets." She squealed making me laugh at her excitement.
"Well I bumped into him earlier today, after I got my schedule and that's it really." She pouted disappointed.
"Really that's it?" I laughed, shaking my head. "What do you want me to say? He had dreamy brown eyes, dark hair styled to perfection, and he had this breathtaking smile."
Oh okay, where did that come from? Syl smiled at me, "Well I wouldn't hesitate."
I rolled my eyes at her, "Of course you wouldn't." Walking into the cafeteria, we sat at our normal table near the back.
"Lunch?" I shook my head, "No I'm good." She shrugged before heading to go to stand in line.
I pulled out a book and started reading, that is until I felt someone sit with me. I knew it wasn't Sylvia because she just left so I looked up and saw the awkward guy.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.
"Oh hi." I smiled and tucked a piece of loose hair behind my ear. "Hi." He smiled and I felt my heart flutter.
Wait flutter? Is that normal?
Maybe I should go see the nurse.
It was awkwardly silent when his friends suddenly joined us and I mentally thanked Sylvia for showing up when she did.
She gave me a look and I shrugged just as confused since I wanted to know why they were here, but me being me there was no way I was going to ask.
"So why are you guys sitting with us? Not that I mind but it's just weird." Thank you Syl! Awkward guy laughed and looked right at me.
"We didn't get to meet officially so I thought we should." I smiled and couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm Alexander."
"Emily." He smiled again and my heart skipped a beat.
Okay, yeah that's not normal.
"This is Jake, Tyler, Sophia, Aiden, Layla, and Chloe." They smiled and I waved. "I'm Sylvia." I noticed the look that Tyler gave her.
I'll have a talk with him later, I thought to myself already becoming protective..
I would describe them all but that's way to much time and a lot of mindless talking. Wait aren't I doing that already? Well geez, okay shut up now Em.
"So this is the guy you were talking about?" My face turned red as Alexander smirked at me.
"You talked about me?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me. "It's not like that!" I huffed before pouting and crossing my arms.
Everyone laughed but it was Alexander's laugh that made the butterflies flutter.
Okay, I'm definitely going to talk to the nurse later.
"We're just friends." I mumbled which caused Aiden to pat Alexander's back, "Friend zoned."
Alexander placed a hand over his heart and pretended to be hurt. I bursted out laughing along with Sylvia who was in tears by now.
I gripped my sides and bent over laughing, I honestly don't remember the last time I laughed this much.
Why I was laughing this much, I had no clue but I was.
Finally calming down, I looked at Alexander who I realized was already looking at me with a look on his face that I couldn't decipher.
"What time is it?" Alexander fished out his phone before showing it to me causing my eyes widened.
"Shit, I'm going to be late." Well not really but I like being early to class.
I rushed a goodbye to everyone before running out. I glanced over my shoulder to see Sylvia blow a kiss at me playfully making me smile.
Again I wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone. I then landed painfully on my ass. "Fuck, sorry."
"Em?" I froze, my entire body going rigid.
That voice, god I knew that voice. Oh my god.
As I looked up into his eyes, I felt my heart break all over again. Just looking at him just reminds me of that night.
The way they held each other, the moans, the sound of them kissing, and everything.
"Sorry." I pushed past him and walked off in the direction of the field.
He suddenly gripped my forearm to stop me. "Em please wait. Can't we talk?"
I wanted to cry, but I knew that I couldn't. That I shouldn't and there was no way I was going to.
Not here Em.
"I'm late. Now let me go." I spat at him with as much hate as I could muster.
He let me go slowly and I took the chance to walk away. The further away I got, the more harder it became to breathe.
I did it, I finally fought back.
I walked to the locker room and took a deep breathe, trying to calm down my racing heart. It wasn't like before, no I was furious that he dared to talk to me.
Shaking my head, I began to quickly change into my soccer gear before going out onto the field.
There were several other girls there but I never really talked to them much unless I had too.
I started stretching just so to help clear my head when the bell rung and I saw Carter and Kayla emerge from the building.
They sat at the bleachers, and I noticed Kayla lightly wave at me. I rolled my eyes and looked away.
How dare she? Did they literally think that I was okay with this? That I would just talk to them?
Couch blew the whistle signalling to line up, I shook my head trying to focus.
The girls ran to their spots, and since I was already in my spot so I continued to do stretches.
As I finished, I stood up finally and smiled at the girl to my right, she smiled back.
"Are you ready Tigers!?" He yelled at all of us.
"Yes sir!" We all responded before he blew his whistle signaling that we were about to begin.
All in all, I was so ready to go home.
