"What are you?"
I got another dagger, ready to throw it if I had too. "And don't even bother lying, I know what I saw!"
I was shaking, is this feeling fear?
"Oh yeah? Why are you asking if you know what you saw?!" His question took me by surprise.
Truth be told, I don't know.
"A monster. A wolf ... I don't even know you anymore." He looked hurt making my heart hurt.
"Was that your plan huh? To make me fall in love with you, just to keep lying to me?! Were you ever going to tell me?!"
Wait, did I love him? What is love? Is it even real? Despite not knowing what love is, one thing was for sure.
I was in love with Alexander Deucalion.
How? God, I don't even know.
"I wanted to tell you. I just didn't want to lose you in the process." I couldn't stop myself from throwing the dagger at him, making it hit the area next to his head.
"You should've told me!" I was angry, hurt, and just everything. Did he not trust me? Obviously not.
"That's why gramps, said to stay away. He knew."
I called him a couple days ago and told him about my new "friends" and he said not to trust them.
Oh god it all makes sense.
Gramps teaching me things, the silver jewelry he always got me on my birthdays. I always wondered why I could only have silver things.
Now, now I know.
He was protecting me ..
"Emily." I cringed at his voice. "Listen to me. I would never hurt or let anything happen to you, I promise."
Could I believe him? No Emily, we can't.
"Don't make promise you can't keep." I told him before shaking my head. "Leave." I ordered, "I need time." He nodded and walked out the door.
Once he was gone, I collapsed onto the floor and cried. I threw the rest of the daggers to the side of the room and hugged my knees to my chest. This can't be happening ... oh god this feels so unreal.
I picked up my phone and dialed Syl's number, I needed to make sure she was okay. "H-Hello?" I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Syl. Are you okay?" I heard her sob quietly. "I'm scared, Emily. So scared." She whispered quietly.
"I'm coming over." I didn't even bother to change out of my wet clothes I just went over.
I got to her house and knocked on the door, her moms car wasn't here so I was thankful since she wouldn't be able to ask questions.
Syl opened the door and I could tell she was crying, she gave me a small smile before breaking down.
I pulled her into a hug and she sobbed into my shoulder. We were both getting wet all over again from the rain but that was the last thing on our minds.
"Shh, Syl. We're okay." She shook her head, "He came to see me. Tyler. I - I.."
I shushed her and held her tighter. "It's okay, Syl."
"It's not, Emily. They're inside right now and I want to trust him but I'm was so afraid. So so afraid." She held me tighter and I just shushed her again.
"We need to talk." I jumped and pushed Syl behind me as Alexander emerged from inside.
When did he get here? That's what she meant by they.
"Okay." I held Syl's hand as we went inside.

"So what you're telling me is that you guys are werewolves and the ones who attacked us are called rouges?" Tyler nodded and I huffed in confusion sitting down.
Aiden, Sophia, Layla, and Chloe showed up a couple minutes ago to try and help us understand better.
"Em, listen we were going to tell you today but when the rouges came it through us off." Chloe tried to grab my hands but I moved away.
A hurt look went across her face, "Where's Jacob?" Layla cringed at his name, "He's in the hospital. He's the one who jumped out to save Syl."
Sylvia gasped and grabbed a hold of my hand. "I'm sorry." Sylvia apologized, her voice barely above a whisper. "He was my mate." I heard Layla whisper sadly.
"Mate?" Syl asked confused, well shit I was too. "That's a conversation for another time." Tyler warned them.
Why?
"I'm so lost." I covered my face with my hands.
What does this even have to do with us? We're just normal human beings.
"My gramps isn't going to like this." I whispered for no one but to myself really. "Why not?" I jumped and looked at Aiden.
"Another thing about us is, we have heightened hearing and we can move quicker too." Chloe told me.
"Right." So any conversation of mine, wasn't safe around them. Duly noted.
"Why wouldn't your gramps like it?" I sighed and took off my necklace that my gramps gave me when I was five.
It was a heart with small diamonds all around it.
"Here." I held it out towards Tyler. He looked at it confused, he touched the pendant and hissed in pain.
"What the hell." He held his hand to his chest. "My gramps made it and gave it to me when I was five."
"So?" I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Half the jewelry I own is from my gramps, half the gifts I give Syl are from him but also made out of silver."
"He's taught me how to use a bow and arrow, Chinese Ring daggers, I know how to shoot a gun, and I can kick your ass." I told them like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I highly doubt that." Aiden muttered making Sophia grab a hold of his hand.
"Try me." I threatened.
I have no idea why but I wanted to prove a point.
He growled and we both stood up, "Em don't."
Syl warned me but I ignored her. "Come at me Aiden, I'll have you on your ass."
Why am I picking a fight with a werewolf again?
Oh maybe because you want to prove you're not weak.
"You're on." He smirked at me.
"Please don't break anything." Syl sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
