"Emily." I slapped away whoever was shaking me. "Five more minutes." I mumbled.

"It's almost midnight." I bolted up and looked around, only to see Syl.

"Ugh, what time is it?" She smiled triumphantly before speaking.

"It's ten. You have half an hour to get ready then I guess you just wait." I thanked her before going to change, "See you tomorrow."

I gave her a quick hug before going to my room to get ready. I jumped into the shower letting the water just relax me.

I got out once the water was starting to get cold. I wrapped a towel around my body, and checked the time.

It was 10:30, was I really in there for that long?

I slipped on a pair of my soccer sweats from Nike, a white tank top that showed my mark perfectly, and a pair of socks.

As I was putting on my socks, I heard a howl.

It sent a shiver down my spine letting me know it was Alexander. He was in pain, but so was I.

A sigh left my lips as I laid on my bed, how can someone who I love not tell me that they killed someone?

But if there's something more than am I bad person for doubting him?

All these questions were running through my head, and I wanted answers.

It was killing me right now not to be near Alexander, all I wanted was for him to hold me but I also want to here this man's story.

"Hello." I sat up quickly when I heard that man's voice. He was early.

"Hi." He motioned me to go with him on the balcony so of course I did.

He gave me a small smile, "I wasn't always a rouge you know? I was apart of Red Dawn once."

I leaned on the rail. "Tell me."

"My mate was Rosie, she was beautiful and once I saw her I knew I'd never love again." Something wasn't right, my gut was telling me so.

"My name is Xavier and I used to be the Beta of this pack." My eyes widened slightly. "He never told me." He chuckled, "As I suspected. I mean I was kicked out."

Why?

"Rosie had been drugged one night and threw herself at Alexander. He knew she was drugged but he still .... I remember her crying the morning after from having no memory of the night."

"She found out what Alexander had done and went after him. I tried to stop her but it was to late. He slashed her throat right in front of me, it drove my wolf mad and because of that I no longer have my wolf."

"You lost your wolf?" He nodded. "I can shift only on full moons but I can't hear his voice anymore, he's just gone."

"So why are you so angry?" He suddenly got serious. "Because he showed no remorse when he ripped out her heart. He just smiled at me."

That didn't sound like Alexander. Not at all. I mean Alexander wouldn't just smile, would he? He would've felt guilty, that much I do know.

Xavier walked towards me, making me feel vulnerable. "He didn't apologize and I attacked him wanting to kill him, in result I was kicked out."

"I'm sorry." Tears brimmed his eyes and it broke my heart to see him cry.

I mean, I don't like to see anyone cry in general.

"I just want him to see that mates are precious. So I need to ask you of a favor." I tilted my head a bit in confusion and fear as he stepped closer to me. "I guess. Ask away."

"Please don't hate me after this?" I frowned confused.

"Why would I -" Before I could finish he pushed me over the railing.

The world seemed to slow down as I fell, Xavier smirked at me before disappearing.

Was this it? Is this how I was going to die?

This isn't how I wanted to go.

I didn't scream until, I was near the ground.

By then it was to late, my world had gone black.
