The wind hit the twins in the face as the rushed back to their cabin.
They had to hurry, they were running out of time and they knew it when the sun began to set.
"Hurry!" Delilah cried out as Ophelia slowed down a bit.
They needed to be there before he got there, they were fully prepared to see him.
Over the years, witches have been hunted down to the point of extinction but a few have remained.
The twins being of those few.
So in order to make sure that future witches are not harmed it was forced upon every witch to hand over their children.
Now it sounds unfair and it is but they were afraid. Afraid that one day, every witch will be wiped out due to the werewolves and vampires fear.
In the UK, hidden within a forest, is a large institute where witches are trained to control their magic.
It was called Veneficia Sanctuarii -Latin for witchcraft sanctuary-.
There was no choice, no alternative, every new witch born into a bloodline must be sent there or else they'd send him, knocking on your door.
Delilah didn't wish to hand over her child nor did she want to hand over Pearl.
Reaching the cabin in no time, Delilah took Pearl into the next room where two cribs were set up.
Delilah didn't want this life for her child, her child was going to live a short life sadly but she didn't want it to be filled with the supernatural.
But she also didn't want to hand over Pearl, she was a pawn in a very risky game and even so she just didn't feel right handing her over.
Casting a spell, Delilah cloaked her child and set Pearl in the car seat. She didn't wish to do this but you have to do what you need to do.
Looking around Delilah found what she was looking for, quickly she grabbed the vile that was connected to a chain like a necklace.
She placed it into the car seat knowing full well that it would be dangerous for her to wear it now.
The vile was the purified essence of the woman Rose, it could only be opened and used by someone with a heart as pure as gold.
The way it worked was that, the essence inside could morph into anything the owner desired it to take shape as. The options weren't limited but the only one who could even use it was, Pearl.
They had created it to be that way.
"It is done." Delilah announced as she entered the room with a sleeping baby only to see Ophelia pacing.
Ophelia let out a tired sigh, before all color drained from her face and she visibly stiffened. "He's here."
The candles flickered ever so slightly before the cabin door suddenly opened revealing who they've been waiting for.
"Sebastian." Delilah replied coldly to which he just nodded. "Are you ready?"
Sebastian made a move to grab the car seat but Delilah moved away from his reaching hand, "And what of the deal?"
He shrugged, "It was considered and they've agreed." The twins shared a look of relief.
"Now are you going to hand her over or am I going to have to take her?" The twins shared a look before allowing Sebastian to grab a hold of the car seat.
However Ophelia stopped him once more. "So the deal hasn't changed? You will release her at 16 to come home?"
Sebastian looked at the child before looking at the two. "Yes, when she is to reach 16, she as well as others get the option to chose what they wish to do."
Ophelia didn't like that answer however, but there was no way she was about to argue with this man. Delilah noticed Ophelia's rigid posture and took her hand into her own before giving it a small squeeze.
"You know this is for her own safety." He reminded them only to cause anger to boil within Delilah.
"Safety? How is a child safe away from the one person who can protect them?" Sebastian didn't even flinch at Delilah's cold tone.
"You know the rules, if I could I'd never take her but we all know the rules." Sighing, Delilah turned away from the man.
"Till we meet again." When Delilah had turned around, he was gone.
Booking it into the other room, Delilah rushed to check on her baby. She was still sound asleep, and it was then the twins knew they couldn't stay there.
It was only a matter of time before Pearl began to show the werewolf gene or just signs that she has DNA of a wolf in her.
As they packed their things, Ophelia grabbed a large trunk before setting in all of their spell books, herbs, several other very rare items before placing a letter at the very top of it all.
She hid the trunk in the closet, there a was hollow area where it would be safe until Pearl was to return.
Training at the Veneficia Sanctuarii was never easy, it was brutal, demanding, and well everything in the book.
The twins could only hope that Pearl was going to be okay for lord only knows what they'll do when they find out she's not Delilah's.
As Sebastian took Pearl further away from the cabin, he knew that it wasn't Delilah's child but he wasn't going to say anything.
This girl showed potential and he knew she was going to be their success.
