Trigger warning {please don't read/skim over the triggering parts if you feel you'll be affected<3}

Let's just skip over the remainder of my 'brilliant' day, shall we?

My date was going so smoothly for the first, maybe three minutes. Until of course Anna, Kaitlin and co had to walk in to Starbucks. Seriously how stupid was I agreeing to meet Joel in the place all the jerks of the school met up after last period? The answer is; very stupid.

Well as you can probably guess Anna decided to be obnoxious and to destroy the only good thing that had happened to me today. Let's just say she accidentally spilt her iced frappe down my front whilst telling Joel I had a boyfriend already which caused Joel to suddenly 'have soccer practise' and leave me.

Looking on the bright side, at least Joel and I exchanged numbers. Not that he'd ever want to text me after today...

Oh and you may be wondering why my 'friend' Kaitlin didn't stand up for me? She values her reputation more than our friendship hence she'd never stick up for me in a million years.

So now I've locked myself in the bathroom at home. Cole had shouted down my throat for probably twenty minutes straight as soon as I got in the door. Apparently I've been excluded or suspended or whatever until next week. Anna had claimed I attacked her physically as well as verbally which was bullshit but I'm not going to oppose it because I get a week off school. Hit the jackpot to be honest!

So I'm currently on the bathroom floor. My eyes fixated on the blade I held against my wrist. Beads of blood were already dripping onto the tile floor. The only reason I had momentarily stopped was because my phone was buzzing annoyingly in my back pocket.

Finally the vibrating seized and I was about to slice again when... fucking hell! Shut up! My phone rang again.

I grabbed my phone forcefully out of my pocket and cut off the caller. However I did catch a glimpse of the caller ID.

Demi.

The stupid selfie she'd taken as her ID photo popped up again.

I really wanted to talk to her. I had missed her for the four or so days that she'd ignored me for. But honestly?! This wasn't exactly the best timing...

Oh fuck it. I threw my blade into my now vacant pocket and picked up the phone.

"Saskia!" Demi's voice sounded cheery down the phone. Just hearing her voice replaced some of the emptiness that was currently filling every corner of my body.

"Hi," my voice wobbled majorly, causing me to gasp. I couldn't trigger Demi again. Shit, shit shit! She'd leave me again!

"You okay baby girl?" She asked worriedly.

I took a few seconds to mentally calm myself down before replying, "yes, sorry. I'm good. Just happy to hear your voice again I guess." Geez that sounded stalker-ish, but it's true. I'd grown closer to the Lovato/De La Garza family in less than a week than I had to my mom in five years!

"Aw you cutie," I could almost see Demi's warm smile down the phone. I'd missed her more than I thought... "Anyway I was calling to say I got a call from Dallas. She said that you were under the impression I hated you because you triggered me or whatever. I'm really sorry if you thought that..." Wait, she didn't hate me?! I could feel the relief spread through my body.

"Wait you don't hate me?" I asked, double checking so I didn't get my hopes up.

"No! Of course not!" Demi said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I'm so confused..." I muttered.

"Hold up, I'll explain the misunderstanding." Demi butted in. "So basically when I left early from thanksgiving you thought you'd like triggered me and driven me away? Well that's what Dal seemed to think anyway." Demi said quickly, "the reason I left is because I had noticed your fasting and cuts earlier," she did?! "but when you passed out at the meal it just struck me how much you're really struggling." She took a breath, she would pass out soon from talking to quickly without getting in more air. "And I kind of had a genius idea. Whilst you were passed out I told mom about this idea. At the time she freaked out-"

"What's the idea?!" I blurted out. None of this was making any sense to me...

"Wait up, I'm getting to it!" Demi chuckled, feigning annoyance. Well at least I think she was feigning it, obviously I haven't been too good at judging people's actions and motives recently... "As I was saying," she continued, "my mom didn't agree with it at first. She thought it would risk my recovery... so I left with Wilmer and discussed it properly. See mom trusts his judgement so I just had to convince him. It only took a few hours of discussion for him to see I'm doing the right thing." WHAT'S THE THING? I was literally on tenterhooks right now, "we went back home on Saturday and I didn't realise you'd left already. It was kind of a good thing as I managed to talk through the idea with my family. As I said, Mom trusts Wilmer's judgement so she agreed. Dad agreed and Dallas agreed. Maddie also agreed eventually. So I've spent today on the phone to your mom. Your mom also thinks this would be a good idea and she went to the lawyers to get and sign some papers. We need you to look at them and agree first.. And if you wanna do if it then I can sign them too and finalise the decision." She stopped talking. Finally.

The information she'd just offloaded to me was spinning in my head. I didn't understand what this 'great idea' was and what it had to do with Demi's family and my mom.

"What's the decision I have to make?" I asked. I was both intrigued and terrified. It could be anything.

"Saskia if you'd like to, I mean it's your decision completely." She paused, dramatically. "Go ask your mom."

"Asshole." I muttered. Why couldn't she just tell me?! The curiosity and tension is killing me.

"Call me back when you've spoken to her," Demi chuckled evilly.

I groaned. Mid groan she hung up on me.

I cleaned my wrist up before pulling my sweater over it. I unlocked the door and made my way down the stairs. My heart was beating rapidly. I wanted to know the secret but what if it was bad? Maybe I'm better off not knowing?

"Saskia is that you?" Mom called from the kitchen,

"Yeh, I've got a question to ask you," I said awkwardly. We still hadn't spoken since the bust up before thanksgiving...

"Dems just called you?" She asked. I nodded my head. "Yeh well I guess I should explain what's happening..."
