It was the next day and it started off swell. Dianna, Eddie, Dallas and Madison had all come over for a 'family meeting' (where Demi's planning on telling them about the little foetus growing inside her) over breakfast which they'd picked up on the way over. They'd brought bags full of goodies from Waffle House and it was a phenomenal experience digesting pancakes which weren't half burnt. I mean, I am grateful for my older sister's cooking but it's not exactly her strongest skill set.

Devouring the remains of my single pancake I hear Wilmer purposefully clear his throat. He'd come back from Vancouver (well that's where I think he was?! I honestly still don't know what Wilmer does for a living) very early this morning. Demi and I had waited up until way after 2am, watching the whole first series of H2O on Netflix so that she could deliver the news to him as soon as he walked through the door. She'd debated FaceTiming him whilst he was on the plane but came to the decision it would be more special to be physically together. Which is understandable, I mean it's not everyday that you tell your other half you're impregnated with your first child.

I was glad Demi had chosen to tell Wilmer in person. It was the sweetest, most endearing moment I've ever witnessed. They both shed tears but unlike earlier, they were joyful tears on my sister's part. I even felt my eyes filling up. I like to think I hardly ever cry but in this situation it was incredibly hard not too. A girlfriend, who thought that there was zero possibility of conceiving, telling her boyfriend the impossible had become reality... It was exceptionally touching.

"So Dems and I have something we ought to share with you all," Wilmer announced, wrapping his left arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. I could tell he was trying to oppress an ear splitting grin. Both him and my sister were glowing. I'm assuming it was due to the anticipation and excitement of sharing such wonderful news.

"Yeh we do," Demi takes over, talking slowly. "I'm pregnant!" She suddenly blurts out, obviously not being able to withhold the information any longer.

I looked over at my relatives, surveying their reactions. Dianna had gasped audibly, bringing her hands to her mouth in evident shock. Meanwhile, Eddie's mouth just gaped open. I chuckled at his dumbfounded expression, almost missing Madison launching herself at Demi, screaming in an over the top celebratory manner.

"Demi darling, Wilmer I'm so happy for you!" Dianna congratulated the soon-to-be-parents, tears streaming down both cheeks as she tightly embraced them both.

Eddie, seemingly the only calm human in the room sidled up next to me, "two new Lovato's in under a year," he placed his arm round my shoulder, smiling at me warmly. "I couldn't be more happy even if I won the lottery."

I jumped off the kitchen stool I had been sat in, embracing Eddie. I'm not trying to be clever, playing with his words or anything but he'd just made me feel like I was worth the equivalent of the lottery jackpot. Becoming a Lovato was the best decision I have ever made.

After everyone had regained their composure, a collective decision was made to go for a family stroll around the neighbourhood. It was unraveling into the first properly warm day of the year so far - at almost seventy degrees and everybody wanted to take advantage of that. As well as it being an excuse to continue chattering about the news.

"I'll stay and clean up, I feel kinda sick." Madison spoke up as we all made our way to the front door, locating shoes which had been tossed carelessly aside upon arrival.

"You okay honey?" Dianna asked, placing the back on her hand on Madison's forehead. "You don't seem to have a temperature."

"Maybe I'm about to come down with something," Madison shrugged, looking incredibly sorry for herself.
