Y/n was having a really hard time hiding her scar now that Vox was around. (Chapter 11)

When they had... intercourse, he was always rough. He loved to choke her—maybe a bit too much. The fake skin sewn around her neck had to be changed more often because of it.

She had a really hard time hiding it from him. He often insisted on showering with her, but that was also one of the few moments she could change it when he wasn't around. So she just prayed he wouldn't see it and often changed it the next morning, or simply pretended... she needed to use the bathroom.

She didn't want to tell him yet.

They had said no more secrets, but it wasn't really a secret. It was just...

Okay. Maybe it was a secret.

But it wasn't something bad. It wasn't something dangerous or something that put their lives at risk. It was just... a memory of her past. A past she wasn't eager to share.

She didn't remember telling the whole story to anyone. Not the full story. She always cut it short, never wanting to go that deep.

But sometimes, when she thought about...

him.

Her heart beat faster. She felt hotter, and she just felt so, so...

A—

"Y/n!"

Vox's voice echoed through the bedroom walls.

She quickly sewed the fake skin back onto her throat, making sure everything was hidden before opening the bathroom door.

"Yes?" she asked, peeking out while rubbing a towel through her damp hair.

He was lying on the bed, his phone in his hands. He looked up when he heard the bathroom door open, his eyes following her as she stepped into the room.

"What took you so long?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.

She smirked as she walked over and sat down on the bed.

"Can't a girl poop in peace?"

His TV face scrunched up, and she let out a soft chuckle.

"Didn't need that detail, thank you."

He rolled onto his stomach before wrapping his arms around her waist. She let herself snuggle into his embrace. His body was warm.

"You know girls poop too."

"I know," he simply said.

His eyes fluttered shut as he fell silent, listening to her breathing for a few seconds before speaking again.

"What do you think about celebrating our 100 days?"

"100 days?" she repeated, one eyebrow lifting in confusion.

"Yeah... I saw that in a Korean rom-com. It's when your relationship hits one hundr—"

"You watch K-dramas?"

Her smile grew wider as she fought back a laugh. Not because K-dramas were embarrassing, but because imagining Vox watching one while working in his office was hilarious. He always acted so tough, so untouchable. The image of him sitting behind his desk, watching a sweet romantic comedy, was almost impossible to picture.

"What? Can't a man enjoy shows like that?" He frowned, though she could still make out the subtle hint of embarrassment beneath it.

She smiled fondly before pressing a kiss to his cheek.
