~~~Austin's dressing room~~~
"What about this one?" Austin asks.I look up from my phone and shake my head. "You already have one like it. Get a different one."
He sighs. "I basically have all the money in the world. Why does it matter that I have the same one?"
I chuckle, going back to a text from Cody. "I'm not stopping you from getting that one. I'm just reminding you that you got one last week."
He rolls his eyes. "Buying it," he says before pressing the button on his laptop.
We both laugh as Alex and Luke walking in the room.
Like takes a seat beside me and puts an arm around my shoulder. "We should take a selfie," he says,taking out his phone.
"Okay," I say before smiling into the camera.
He bites his lip as he tries to think of a caption before posting it on his social apps. "Done. We'll take another one later."
"Can't wait," I say as my phone beeps.
Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?
I look up at Austin. "Are we doing anything tomorrow?"
He shrugs, shaking his head. "But you can't leave. We're watching a movie with everyone."
"Oh, right." About two weeks into every tour, Austin and I set up a movie day with the all the bands and other people who might - in any way - contribute to all the concerts. It's basically an off limits day for everyone. You can't go out and do anything and you can't talk to anyone else.
"Is that your new boyfriend?" Luke asks.
I nod, not really paying attention. Cody was calling.
I give Austin a kiss on the cheek and wave to the guys before heading outside.
"Hey!" I say cheerfully.
"Hey, Kelli," Cody says, a little less happily. "Why can't we go out tomorrow?"
I lean against the wall. "We're doing something with the people in the concert. I'm sure the day after that I'm not busy."
"But I am," he says flatly. "I have to take Carly over to her appointment."
"We'll figure something out," I say quietly.
"Fine," he snaps before hanging up the phone.
I stand out for a few minutes sending Sidney a text when Alex walks out. His hands were in his pocket and he leaned against the wall across from me.
I smile at him. "Hey."
He smiles back, but I noticed it was a sad smile.
"Whats wrong?" I ask him.
He shrugs, looking away.
"Is it about the girl you like?"
He lets out a humorless laugh. "I'd say so."
I turn back to my phone and reply to a text from Cody. "Well, you can always just tell me what's wrong."
He nods. "I was hoping we could go for a walk."
I put my phone away. "Will you tell me about your girl problems?"
He chuckles. "Yeah."
"So the girl you like has a boyfriend?" I ask and he nods, a solemn look on his face."They started dating about three days ago. She seems to really like him."
I frown. "Well, have you told her?"
"What?" he asks, confused.
I look up at him. "Does she know you like her? She probably wouldn't have dated him if you had let her know how you felt."
But he shakes his head. "If she liked me back, she would've waited for me to make a move."
I roll my eyes. "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard you say. You dint know that she liked you. Maybe she doesn't even know it yet. And if you tell her, your chances of her liking you back are a lot higher."
My phone rings again and I groan. "Excuse me."
He nods, looking down at his hands.
"Hey," I say.
"Babe, you wanna come over?" Cody slurs into the phone.
I sigh. "Cody, are you drunk?" I ask in a small voice.
He laughs loudly. "Connie, just come over. Like you did yesterday."
My jaw tightens. "This isn't Connie."
He stays silent for a while. "Kelli?"
I roll my eyes before hanging up. "I'll talk to you later."
"Wait, don't--"
I hang up and go back to where Alex was sitting. He looks up at me. "You okay?"
I nod, giving him a light smile.
He doesn't believe me but let's it go. "Do you want to keep walking or should we just leave?"
Then it hits me. Cody and I started dating three days ago. I stare at him for a while.
Alex looks over at me. "What's wrong?'
I look away. "Its not me, right?"
He looks confused. "What are you--"
"Cody and I started dating three days ago."
Understanding, flickers in his eyes and he shakes his head. "Its not what you think."
I bite my lip. "So it's not me?" I ask hopefully.
He looks at me for a while before shaking his head. "No, it's someone else."
I breathe put a sigh of relief before smiling again. "Okay, so, what are you going to do about this boyfriend thing?"
He shrugs. "I think I'll just let it go."I shake my head, smacking his arm. "You have to do something. What about that song you're writing?"
"What about it?"
Then I gasp loudly. "You should throw her a party!"
He chuckles. "A party?"
I nod eagerly. "She'll love it. Everyone loves a party."
He thinks about it for a moment. "She has a boyfriend," he repeats. "I can't just--"
He stops talking when I grab his hands. "It would be perfect," I exclaim. "Do it a day whenever her boyfriend isn't around. I'm sure your brothers can help you decorate. So can Austin. I can help too. If I'm in the right mood that is."
He smiles softly. I beam at him. "You're going to do it, aren't you?"
He nods. "If you're sure she'll like it."
I clap. "Absolutely positive."
He grins back at me. "Then I'll do it."
