DELLA

Lunch rolled around quickly and I was grateful when Ashton pulled me away from the lab and towards our lockers.

We grabbed our lunches and I followed Ashton to the outside cafeteria and sat down at a table by the basketball court.

I pulled my lunch out of its bag to find a wrapped up chicken salad sandwich and a bottle of iced tea. Thank you Joy. We began eating and Ashton babbled about God knows what until a basketball hit the chained fence, right where our table was.

"Oops sorry." A male voice said and I looked up to see a red haired boy wearing jeans and a jersey looking at me with his hands curled around the links. He smirked at me.

"So, you're Calum Hood's new sister, Adelina. I'm Jamie. You guys actually kinda look alike. But you're prettier than he is. Why don't you come onto to this side of the fence and we'll get to know each other better, huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows and laughed.

I felt my heart start racing and ew this guy is disgusting.

"Leave her alone Jamie." Ashton said and put his juice box down. "Why, I'm not bothering her." Jamie said in a sweet voice.

I scoffed, feeling a tiny surge of confidence. "Actually you are." I said wrapping my arms around myself.

"See, now go away." Ashton grumbled and put his arm around me protectively. "Why don't you make me Ashley." Jamie challenged and his smirk grew bigger. Ashton started to get up from the bench but a hand on his shoulder stopped him. It was Michael, and he did not look happy.

"I suggest you get back to your game Stone. Don't talk to her, don't look at her, don't even think about her or else." Michael sneered and I admit, I was a little frightened of this side of him.

Jamie listened though and just winked at me before walking back to his friends. Gross.

Michael sat down across from me and started eating as if nothing happened. "Thanks for that." I said quietly and wrung my hands. The blue haired boy just shrugged. "No problem. Jamie Stone is a dick. If you can, stay away from him." He explained.

Ashton nodded in agreement as he sipped on his juice. He was still fuming.

"Hey guys what's up?" I heard Calum say as he sat down beside me. Luke sat down quietly with his tray beside Michael. Ashton perked up and slammed his juice on the table, causing some of it to spray out of the straw. "Jamie fucking Stone is what's up."

Calum furrowed his eyebrows. "What'd that prick do now?" He questioned as he pulled out the exact same lunch as mine.

"He was hitting on Della but Michael told him off." Ashton exclaimed. I saw a look of anger morph onto Calum's face and he balled his fist. "That asshole, I swear I'm gonna get him." He spat.

I hesitantly placed my hand on top of Calum's and he immediately softened up. "I'm fine Calum, don't worry about it please." I said and he sighed before nodding. He looked at Michael who was watching us, or me.

"Thanks mate."

Michael just nodded curtly and we continued eating.

All too soon, lunch ended and I walked hand in hand with Calum to our English class, Ashton bouncing ahead and Luke and Michael trailing behind us.

As English droned on, Mrs. Reece, who I learned is Sara Reece's mother, assigned the class to write a paper talking about ourselves so she could 'get to know us'. As if.

PE. That was our last class of the day and I was kind of dreading it. Mainly because Calum told me we had uniforms.

It seemed as though Michael was too as he was contemplating whether or not to skip. But he followed us to the gym after I gave him a look.

After changing into my gym uniform, I almost regretted not skipping like Michael wanted. Grey short shorts and a red t-shirt with the school's name and crest on the front. I didn't mind the shirt and I liked my legs but I didn't like them exposed so much.

Coach Langdon made everyone line up, boys on one side and girls on the other. Then he made us run suicides and do pushups.

It was not fun.
