"Adelina Hood!"

I cringed at the sound of my name coming from my mum's mouth.

Joy could be scary when it came to school. She wanted us to excel, in the classroom and outside. Which means getting a detention for foul play in gym class wasn't exactly excelling.

"Yeah mum?" I asked hesitantly.

"Oooh, Della's in trouble." Mali said as she passed through the living room with a bowl of popcorn.

"Shut up Mali, you don't even go here." Calum said as he stole some of her popcorn to which she smacked him in return.

"Mali-Koa and Calum Thomas Hood, separate, now."

Mali huffed and proceeded back to her room. Calum crossed his arms and sank back into the couch. I sighed lightly and waited for mama Hood's lecture.

"What happened?" She only asked, as she sat patiently on the couch.

"Uhhh, well I kind of hit Michael on purpose in gym class while playing football cause Priscilla Ryder kissed him and he didn't stop it and I was mad so I used it to score goals and our team won but I made up with Michael so it's all good and I learned my lesson anyway. I'm sorry!" I blurted out in a rush.

Mum blinked a few times before nodding slowly and giving Calum a look. He chuckled.

I bit my lip in anticipation.

Finally, Joy smiled and said in a serious tone. "Okay sweetie. I'm letting it go just this once. But if it happens again, no Michael for however long I decide."

I let out a breath of relief.

"Thank you mum. I promise it won't happen again and if it does, you can send me to boarding school or boot camp. I love you." I grinned as I hugged her tightly and Calum chuckled.

She hugged me back and let out a laugh. "Okay, okay. Go do teenager things now. I love you both."

"What about me!?" Mali yelled from her room.

Joy sighed and rolled her eyes. "I love you too Mali."

"Yes!"

I chuckled and grabbed Calum's hand, pulling him out the door and into his car.

"Della, Calum, nice to see you two again. Lucas is always complaining how he doesn't have friends when you guys aren't here."

"Mum!" Luke yelled as he came down the stairs as Calum and I laughed.

Liz tsked. "Oh Luke, you know it's true."

"Hi Lukey, ready to go?" I grinned.

"Yeah let's go. I wanna ride til I puke." Luke grinned.

"Remember to call me sweetie." Liz reminded him and Luke groaned. "Yes mum I know, goodbye."

Then he pushed us out of the house and got in the car. "Drive, now, before I die of embarrassment."

"Chill mate, she's just doing what all mums are supposed to do. Which is everything they can to embarrass their kids." Calum chuckled and I smiled as we drove to Michael's house.

"Della! Good to see you. You look so cute in that outfit." Karen gushed as I stood in the foyer of the Clifford residence.

"Thanks Karen. Now where's that crazy haired boy I have to call my boyfriend."

"Right here sweetness." Michael said as he came out of nowhere and greeted me with a peck on he lips.

He looked extra attractive in his skinny jeans, cutoff shirt and snapback. Like, take me to church, I'd rather devour him in the funhouse than hold his hand on the ferris wheel.

"Bye mum, see you later." Michael called as he dragged us out of his house and to Calum's car.

"So my mum was right. You look very cute in that outfit." Michael said, referring to my acid wash shorts, Michael's striped sweatshirt tucked in and white TOMS.

I blushed and got in the car, Michael following with a smirk.

When we arrived at Luna Park, Calum parked his car and we headed to the gates where Ashton and Londie were waiting, Ash rocking on his heels. When he saw us, his eyes lit up and he jumped up and down and waved excitedly. Londie just laughed and waved.

"Oh my god, you're here! Let's go, I wanna go on a spinny ride." He said, grabbing Londie and pulling her towards the ticket booth.

After buying our tickets we split up, Michael and I heading for the hang glider ride, and the boys and Londie heading to the tea cup ride to get sick.

A few hours later, the six of us had snagged a bench and piled on it to eat cotton candy and snow cones.

"Your favourite candy's cotton, that's why all your teeth are rotten." Londie sang then stuffed a pink cloud of fluff in her mouth.

"I love that song." I said smiling and Londie grinned.

There was a comfortable wave of silence around us as we enjoyed our treats and everything felt right and wonderful.

Surprisingly no one had gotten sick yet, even though we ate nachos and mini doughnuts.

I took a bite of my snow cone and let the flavoured ice melt in my mouth before planting a kiss on Michael's lips. He kissed back, wanting more but I pulled back and stuck my blue tongue out and laughed when he pouted.

"Okay, I'm ready for another ride. Rollercoaster?" Calum said and stood up, scanning the park.

We all nodded and followed Calum to a random but thrilling rollercoaster.
