MICHAEL

A couple weeks had passed since I told Della I loved her.

She didn't said it back right away but I was so happy when she did.

We got back to the house, and before going inside, she kissed me deeply. Then she said I love you and climbed up on her balcony. I swear, I had never felt anything so good as the butterflies swarming in my stomach.

"Hey princess." I greeted Della as she stood at her locker. I kissed her cheek and she jumped.

"Oh my god. You scared me!" She exclaimed, wide eyed and a hand over her heart. That's when I noticed she had earbuds in. I laughed. "Oops, sorry babe."

Della smiled and shook her head. Then she stood on her tip toes and kissed me before saying hi.

"Come on, I'll walk you to class." I suggested and held out my hand.

"That's so cheesy but it's you so I don't mind." Della chuckled and took my hand after shutting her locker. We were about to walk up the stairs to the second floor but an idea popped into my head.

I quickly pulled Della under the staircase and kissed her passionately. She kissed back and when we pulled away she had a confused look on her face. "Why'd you do that?"

"Just expressing my love." I said simply, shrugging.

Della smiled shyly. "Love you too." She mumbled but I heard it.

"I'm taking you out tonight." I said matter of factly. Della tilted her head and smiled. "Oh really?" I nodded. She bit her lip and then nodded. "Okay, what time?"

"Be ready at seven and wear something warm." I grinned and grabbed her hand. She chuckled as well we climbed the stairs. We approached her Maths class and shared a quick kiss before I headed to my Drama class.

The day went by uneventful but I couldn't help but feel excited about my date with Della.

I hope she liked it. Her psyche was complex but her personality was simple and she was an extraordinary girl despite her misfortunes. I knew Della would appreciate anything I planned, so I didn't go over the top.

Our date consisted of a simple activity and I hoped to just talk to her and admire her presence and beauty.

When I arrived at the Hood residence, Calum had answered the door and gave me the protective older brother stare, even though he's actually younger than Della. Then he threatened my life and my manliness if I hurt his sister.

"Look man, I love you and you're like a brother to me. But if you hurt her, I will kick you in the balls. I can't threaten to kill you cause then we wouldn't be a band and Della would be sad. Okay now, have her back at a decent time."

Calum actually freaked me out for a good minute before he bro hugged me and called Della and I heard her footsteps on the stairs.

My breath caught in my throat like it usually does when Della enters a room. Her presence is so strong and demanding. You would think she is too by the way she catches every eye in the room but she's actually very shy.

"Hi Mikey." Della greeted me with a kiss and I wanted to kiss her passionately but Calum raised a brow and I just kissed her cheek lightly.

Though her outfit was mostly black, she looked so cute. Black dress, leggings and Converse. Over top, she wore a dark blue letterman sweater and I couldn't help but wanna just cuddle her to death.

"You look beautiful." I complimented and Della bit her lip. "Thanks. You look pretty amazing yourself." She said pointing to my basic black and white flannel and skinny jeans. I wore a leather jacket and combat boots. I chuckled. "Ready to go?"

Della nodded and gave Calum a hug. "Have fun kids....but not too much fun." "Shut up Calcium! Use protection guys!" Mali yelled from somewhere in the house. "Mali, I swear to god!"

I took that as our cue to leave before the two other Hood siblings murdered one another.

"Let's go before blood gets on the carpet." Della said and we walked out to my car. I opened Della's door before she could protest and smirked when she huffed and reluctantly got in.

"You know I dislike that awkward chivalrous stuff Michael." She reminded me when I got in my side and started the car. I shrugged and smiled. "But I love you so I'm gonna be chivalrous and you love me so you're gonna let me. Or will I have to punish you?" I whispered that last part and I saw Della physically stiffen.

"Fuck. You've got me wrapped around you finger Clifford." She said and shook her head but I saw the way the corner of her lips turned upwards.

"I'd rather have you wrapped around something else."

That earned me a smack on my thigh. I looked over at Della when we came to a red light. She wasn't looking at me and I silently admired the way she simply stared out the window but I saw the sparkle in her eyes.

The light had turned green and I focused my eyes back on the road. We were almost to our destination. I was very excited.

"So why did I have to dress warm? Are we going to Christmastown?" Della asked and I laughed. I shook my head. "You gotta stop watching The Nightmare Before Christmas Della.

"Never."

I pulled into a parking lot outside an old building. I admit it looked a bit sketchy but it really wasn't.

"Did you tell me you love me just so you could lure me here to actually kill me this time?"

"Again with the secret murder plans? Baby, I love you and I did not bring you here to kill you." I explained as we got out of the car.

"I have a friend who works here and he owed me a favor. So we, are going skating." I said taking Della's hand and pulling her inside the building.

"Skating?" Even though I wasn't looking at her, I could hear her tilting her head in curiosity.

We stepped through a door and were faced with a giant deserted ice rink. I looked around for my buddy Tommy. When I saw him, I waved and he gave me a thumbs up.

"That's my friend Tommy. This was the favor he owed me. I got him to reserve the entire rink just for us tonight." I said and waited for Della's reaction.

"Mikey....this is....this is amazing. I believe this is going to be a wonderful date."
