CALUM
"Hey Luke, how was hockey tryouts?"
After dinner consisting of burgers and chips, Ashton and Della followed me up to my room and we skyped Luke.
Luke's face popped up and we heard a guitar in the background. Luke shrugged. "It went okay I guess." He said. I noticed he was kinda quiet, probably cause he was still shy around Della.
Ashton leaned forward and smiled. "Don't worry Lukey, you were on the team last year and you'll be on it this year." He said encouragingly. I nodded, agreeing.
"Thanks guys but I did terrible." Luke said sighing. Then a pillow hit him. "Shut up Luke, you were amazing." Michael's voice came as he moved in view of the camera, holding Luke's acoustic. "You're one of the top players. There was a sophomore who slammed into the boards and cried like a bitch." Michael laughed. I saw Luke holding back a smile.
"I believe in you Luke."
Everyone looked at Della, as she bit her lip. Luke raised an eyebrow. "I've never seen you play but I bet you're the best player in the school." She smiled.
Luke blushed. "Thanks." He said quietly.
"How did your tryouts go Della?" Luke asked, diverting the attention from himself. Ashton jumped up and down on his knees. "She did amazing in cheerleading!" He giggled.
"You tried out for cheerleading?" Michael asked, surprised. Della nodded. "And track. I'm more concerned about track though. I had to cut my track tryout short to make it to cheerleading." She sighed and I put my hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze.
"I bet you'll make both." Michael smiled slightly and Della nodded shyly.
After thirty minutes of talking about tryouts and random stuff, Ashton had to go home and we said goodbye to Luke and Michael.
"See you tomorrow Ash." I said as he waved and walked out the front door.
(Time skip bc lazy)
I held Della's hand as Ashton skipped ahead of us towards the back field.
Football tryouts were today and Della came to support us. Luke and Michael were going to meet us there. Della waved excitedly when she saw them and wished Ash and I good luck before joining them on the bleachers.
I warmed up beside Ash as we waited for tryouts to start.
"Line up boys! We're starting with dribbling. Then we'll split up and work on passing. After, we'll test your speed and shielding ability. Let's go!" Coach Langdon yelled and blew his whistle.
I stood a few feet away from Ashton and waited for the signal to start. When the whistle blew, I carefully but quickly kicked the ball between each pylon.
When I finished, I ran to the back of line, and watched as Ashton dribbled perfectly through the pylons.
Although Ash and I had seniority over most of the people trying out, we still did our best, hoping to impress the coach.
DELLA
Calum and Ashton were doing very well. I think. I don't know anything about football.
I was kinda bored but I didn't wanna leave. I was still supporting the boys. Luke nudged me. I turned to see him smiling and holding out a string of red licorice. I took it and smiled at him in thanks and we continued to watch the boys as we munched on our licorice.
"Ugh, I'm so bored." Michael whined and I looked to see him spread out over one of the benches. I chuckled.
"Me too." I admitted, grinning.
"You wanna ditch and get frozen yogurt with me?" He offered. I looked at the field where Calum and Ashton were passing the ball back and forth to eachother, then I looked back at Michael. I shrugged. "Sure." I said and stood up.
Luke gave us a confused look but stayed silent. Michael just waved to him and we stepped down from the bleachers.
"There's a cool frozen yogurt shop in the mall." Michael said as he unlocked his car. I slipped into the passenger seat and Michael started the car, turning the cd player on.
You Me At Six's cover of Sugar We're Going Down flooded the car and I smiled. "I love this song."
Michael smiled, agreeing as he pulled out of the parking lot. I watched the city scenery go by, bobbing my head to the song.
"Here we are." Michael announced as we parked. We headed inside and he steered me to the the frozen yogurt shop.
When we got there, I got a 'blueberry blast' (fuck me idk what flavours there are) and topped it off with strawberries, Nerds and caramel sauce. I nearly moaned at how good it was. "This is fucking amazing." I said, licking the spoon.
I heard a chuckled and looked at Michael, who was already looking at me, a blank look on his face. Then he smiled. "Oo miss Della has quite the mouth on her." He said teasingly. I rolled my eyes.
"At least it's pretty." I said smacking my lips together in a joking manner. I heard him chuckle again and I laughed.
What I didn't hear him say was 'yes it is'.
-
Michael's got a pretty mouth. Fuck him and his pink soft looking lips.
In other news, my body hates me. Everything hurts and I have to train for 9 hours everyday until Monday. Halsey(mom) give me strength please! :/
