"Calum?" A small voice whispered from the other side of my bedroom door.

The voice was female, timid and unsure. I knew who it was. "Come in." I said and sat up in my bed, where I'd been trying to fall asleep for the past hour.

The door opened and Della stood in the doorway. She wore flannel pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt. She was wringing her hands and looking around nervously. She looked so cute and childish, I felt the need to protect her.

"What is it babe?" I asked, not caring about the pet name usually reserved for couples.

"Um I can't...I can't sleep." She admitted awkwardly, an embarrassed look on her face. I chuckled softly. I scooted over and patted the space beside me.

"Neither can I." I said as she shyly walked over and got under the covers. I grabbed my laptop and went to Netflix. "You wanna watch a movie?" I didn't wait for a response as I put on Spy. Della snuggled into my side as the movie started and I put my arm around her shoulders protectively.

"So why can't you sleep?" I asked, my eyes trained on the screen. Della shrugged but then said, "I have insomnia. Or so the doctors say."

It was quiet for a few minutes before I admitted. "Me too."

Della looked at me and I looked back. It was like some sort of agreement. And I was quite happy about it. Mali never liked it when I came to her on sleepless nights. I was glad someone, Della obviously, shared my problem and now I knew I wasn't alone.

"Are you nervous to start school?"

Della's eyes were basically glued to the screen but she nodded slightly.

"A little." She answered and I squeezed her shoulder. "You'll be fine. I'll be there and my friends will look out for you. I can't wait for you to meet them. We're in a band together."

A small smile graced Della's face as I babbled.

"Luke is the youngest. He's kinda shy and quiet but he'll warm up to you. But Ashton is a chatterbox. You wouldn't believe he's the oldest cause he giggles like a teenage girl and never shuts up. You and Michael are the same age. He is like the dad of the group. Very protective and gets detention a lot, usually for fighting."

"They sound great. I hope they like me." Della sighed.

"Hey, they'll love you. Despite our loser status, they're very accepting. You'll be the newest member in our little club of misfits(references eyyy).

Della chuckled and turned back to the movie.

We were barely halfway through the movie when I felt Della's head plonk down on my shoulder. Her breathes were even and soft. She was asleep.

I shut my laptop and pushed it aside. I laid my head on top of Della's and shut my eyes, counting in my head.

I made it to eight before I felt myself drift away.

Heads up, Della and Calum's relationship is gonna be super cute. They will be close/besties but they are SIBLINGS so please do not ship them.
