Thought Of Losing You (Tadashi x Reader)

The sky was growing dark when you finished your work at your lab in SFIT. You had been working for many long hours and were more than ready to head home.

You were just grabbing your bag when Tadashi poked his head into your lab.

"You're still here?"

"I was just heading home. I wanted to finish up what I was working on."

"Can I offer you a ride home? It's not safe to walk after dark."

You smiled. "Thanks for the offer but I think I would prefer to walk today. I'll see you tomorrow."

Tadashi didn't try to argue. He knew that once you'd made up your mind, there was no changing it.

He was safe at home when he heard something on the news that froze him in his spot. You had gotten shot. He watched trying to get as much information as he could.

You had been walking past a known bot fighting arena when an argument started. One fighter was accused of cheating so guns were quickly brought out.

Total, two shots were fired. One missed and the other hit you as you passed by. The bullet lodged itself near your heart. As the news had reported, you were on the verge of death and surgery was needed as quickly as possible.

When they had finished the news report, Tadashi threw on his coat and raced towards the hospital.

When he arrived he had to wait in the waiting room, hoping you'd survive the delicate surgery. If anything went wrong, you'd be gone.

Several long hours later a doctor appeared and told Tadashi that the surgery had been a success.

You opened your eyes and saw Tadashi sitting next to you, holding your hand. When he saw your eyelids open he smiled with relief.

"I'm so sorry (y/n). If I had insisted on giving you a ride, this wouldn't have happened." You saw tears form in the corners of his eyes.

You shook your head. "It's okay, I wanted to walk." You said with a cough.

"Don't talk. You need to rest." You nodded and squeezed his hand.

"I need to tell you something (y/n). When I thought I could lose you, I realized that I couldn't stand to live in a world without you. I love you (y/n)."

You nodded again. You were surprised at his words. "I love you too." You said as another fit of coughs racked your body.

He leaned down and gently kissed you. "Just rest, (y/n). I'll be here when you wake up. I will never leave your side."
