You ran through the busy city streets in panic. As usual no one was paying any attention to you. They simply turned their backs to you when you'd attempted to beg for help. As you turned you saw the black swarm rising in the distance.

Turning, you continued to run in fear. You turned onto a quite road and kept turning onto new streets. You were lost but you just wanted to get as far from that masked freak as you could.

A curse escaped across your lips as you ran into a dead end. You turned around and stopped as a wall of the black microbots blocked your escape. You searched for any escape route that could help you. None appeared.

The man glided over the wall on a platform of the microbots and you slowly began to back away. You fell backwards onto the hard asphalt and continued to scoot backwards as tentacles of the robots reached for you.

You'd met Hiro and Tadashi a few years earlier. Hiro had been at a bot fight when you'd first seen him. It had been your first bot fight and he had come in with a silly looking robot. It had a smiley face painted on its head and looked more like a funny doll than a fighting bot.

Thinking it would be an easy kill you'd challenged him. At first you thought you had him then he caught you by surprise. The face changed to an angry red one and his bot detached and reattached itself in order to avoid your attempts to hit it. It then proceeded to squeeze the head off of your bot. You'd thrown a fit.

Collecting the pieces you'd walked slowly towards home. Within minutes, Hiro had caught up to you. He was riding on the back of a motorcycle next to an older boy whom you later found out was his brother, Tadashi.

Feeling sorry for you, he offered to fix your bot. and you'd quickly become fast friends. Unfortunately, with your schooling, you didn't have much time to hang out with him.

When you did see him, he told you he had given up bot fighting and had moved onto making microbots. After several long lectures from him on how they worked, you finally understood. They were pretty neat and could help so many people.

You didn't hear from him for weeks and you soon learned why. His brother had died trying to save a person in a fire.

Weeks after the fire you'd heard a knock at the door and went to answer it. Outside on the porch was a tall man in a kabuki mask.

"Where is Hiro" He demanded. When you had refused to answer that or any other question he had become angry and violent. You closed the door quickly hoping he would leave.

After making several holes in your front door with his fist he stopped and seemed to recall something else. You peered out of one of the holes and watched as thousands of Hiro's microbots rose behind the man.

You ducked as several arms of the robots shot towards you. They shot through the door and grabbed it, yanking it off of the hinges.

Snapping to your senses you had begun to run.

You closed your eyes as the long tentacles of microbots shot towards you, your mind racing with ideas for escape. You knew it was impossible but you still thought there may be some way out. You waited for the microbots to wrap around you but they never did.

You slowly opened your eyes, one at a time and was startled by what you saw. If front of you was a big robot clad in red armor and a small boy next to him, also in armor.

"Stay down (y/n)." The boy shouted at you. As he turned to face you, you gasped.

"Hiro?" As you stared, you saw the masked man land behind him. Before you could warn Hiro on the impending danger, he was grabbed by the microbots. Struggling he was unable to escape their grasp.
