Hiro was a recent friend of yours. Having met him at SFIT, you became fast friends. Usually you hung out at school, his place, or the mall. Having decided that it'd been a while since the last time you had gone, you decided to go to the mall.

After wandering in and out of stores for a bit, the two of you sat on a bench near the food court. You were just talking and having fun when Hiro turned serious.

"I haven't had this much fun since before Tadashi died." He frowned and looked away.

"If it's not too hard to talk about, I was curious how you lost him?" You asked. You had known about his brother's death but Hiro never brought him up.

"It was a fire, at the institute. Tadashi ran in to save Professor Callaghan but there was an explosion before he could get out."

"That must've been hard. I know how you feel though. Since you shared that, I have something to tell you too. I haven't told anyone this before. My mother died a couple years ago."

He seemed shocked but nodded his understanding. "How?"

"She had been sick for a while with cancer. Finally, she just couldn't fight it anymore. What I'm saying is this though, I understand what you went through." An awkward silence fell between you as you thought about the personal things you had just shared. Suddenly, Hiro broke the silence.

"We should get ice cream. It's a good day for it." He rose and you whole heartedly agreed. Ice cream sounded great. As you rose though, a glint of light made you look at Hiro's pants. The button was now hanging loosely, barely able to keep his pants closed.

"Follow me first. We'll still get ice cream but I need to do something." Despite his protests, you dragged him down the malls wide corridors and into the closest clothing store. You pulled him to the back of the store and into the biggest dressing room.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I need you to take off your pants. Don't worry, it's not for anything weird. I just need to fix your button." You demanded holding your hand in front of you.

"I'm not taking them off. They'll be fine." His face grew red as he argued with you. You were barely able to hold in your giggles at the face Hiro was making.

"You don't understand, I need to fix them. If you won't give them to be, I'll have to take them myself." With that, you quickly pulled down his pants and pulled your sewing kit from your bag. "Sit down and I'll have these fixed momentarily. It's not like anyone will see you. We are in a locked dressing room."

He obediently sat shifting around uncomfortably as his face continued to grow darker shades of crimson. Within a few minutes the button was attached tightly to the pants and you handed them back. He quickly pulled them on and mumbled a thanks.

Walking out of the store, you noticed that Hiro was still a dark red and not talking a whole lot.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I'm just really sensitive to loose threads and buttons. I guess it's what I got from my mom. She was a fashion designer and taught me everything I know. So again, I'm sorry about that."

He thought about that for a minute before speaking.

"It's okay. I really wasn't expecting you to do that. If you'd explained to me sooner, I wouldn't have objected as much. You did fix them pretty well though. Thanks." To demonstrate his point, he pulled at the button. It didn't shift and inch from its spot.

"How about that ice cream now?" You asked, trying to move past the moment.

"Sounds good! Race you there!" He bolted off and you ran to catch up.

"Hey, wait for me!"
