It had been three weeks since that night. Since the fire at SFIT. Since you'd lost Tadashi, your one true love. It had hurt so much to lose him and you'd been feeling numb ever since.
You had tried to move on but life just didn't seem the same without him. The two of you had shared a deep connection that many found weird considering you were both males. That hadn't mattered to you though.
You sighed as you left work and thought about Tadashi. After the Tadashi Hamada Hall had been built, you'd been hired to work there. Sure, it hurt to see his name everyday but it also felt like you were holding on to a piece of him.
You glanced back at the building. "Goodnight Tadashi." You whispered to yourself before turning your back to the hall. It was a quiet night as you walked back to your small apartment. Even through the city lights, you could catch glimpses of the stars shining in the blackened sky.
When you reached your apartment with your key in hand, you froze. Sitting in front of your door sat a single red rose. You looked around but saw no one. You reached down and picked up the flower before gently smelling it. The sweet fragrance filled your nose making you smile.
Who could have left this? You wondered as you opened the door.
Once inside you filled a vase with water and placed the rose inside. You set this on your bedside table and stared at it as you fell asleep.

Over the next few weeks the roses continued to appear. Every night when you came home there was a new crimson rose waiting for you.
There were never any hints as to who was leaving them and the feelings of wonder were replaced with fear and worry. For all you knew, you could have a stalker.
You eventually confronted your friend, Hiro, about the roses.
"Sorry, (y/n), I have no idea who is sending you roses. It's not me or anyone I know." At that moment you're phone rang.
"Sorry, just give me a minute." You apologized to Hiro. "Hello?" There was nothing but silence on the other side of the phone. "Hello?" You asked again.
Suddenly a gravelly voice sounded through the phone. "I know who's been sending the roses." They hung up and your breath caught in your throat.
"What is it?" Hiro asked you as he saw the terror displayed on your face.
You told him about the voice and you started to worry that you were right. You had a stalker.
"You want me to help look into this?" Hiro offered.
"Thanks, I'll see what I can find too."
~oOo~
Your next day off you spent investigating who had called you and who was giving you the roses. As you'd expected, you came up empty handed.
You were frustrated as you walked home. Then in a window of a nearby shop you saw the reflection of someone wearing a mask. You quickly turned but saw no one wearing any mask.
Looking back at the reflection, you discovered that he was gone from there as well.
I must have imagined it.
None the less, you started walking faster towards home. A couple blocks down you saw the reflection again. This time it was clear enough that you could tell that the mask was a kabuki mask. Turning, you saw him walking quickly towards you.
You ran towards your apartment taking shortcuts that you knew including an alley. That's where he caught you. You felt him grab your arm pulling you to a halting stop. Your arm felt as if it was being pulled from its socket but he kept his grasp.
"Who are you? Are you the one leaving me roses?" You asked. He stopped and let go, evidently shocked by your second question. "Are you the one stalking me?"
"No. Where is Hiro Hamada?" he demanded.
"I don't know."
"Tell me. You're lying."
"I already told you I don't know." Not pleases at your response he flung you against the wall. Your head slammed into the hard wall making it hard to think straight. The world spun before going dark. When you woke up the man was gone, the mask laying on the ground several feet from where you laid.
Whatever had scared him off had also unmasked him. "Thank you." You called into the darkness. You looked at your watch and saw that you'd been knocked out no more than ten minutes. You slowly got to your feet and had to sturdy yourself as the world spun again.
Once you had steadied yourself you walked towards the mask and picked it up. Inside was a note.
Don't worry about him. He won't bother you again.
There was no signature. You had to reread it to be sure but the handwriting looked just like Tadashi's. It can't be. I must still be confused from hitting my head. You felt your skull and felt a bump but thankfully your hand came away without blood on it.
You picked up your discarded bag and continued home. As you walked you kept looking over your shoulder but no one ever appeared. You weren't sure who you were looking for, your savior or the man in the mask.
As you reached your door you picked up the crimson flower that you knew would be waiting. You still didn't know who had sent it but you hoped it had been whoever had helped you.
You walked inside and closed the door behind you. From down the hall Tadashi let out the breath he hadn't known he was holding. He had watched you sadly from the shadows and was now walking out of the building, keeping to the darkness.
He loved you but he knew that he would only put you in danger if he were to see you. It was risky enough to leaving you the roses.
