All of this is still Nicole's flashback. I didn't realize it would take up a whole extra chapter, so yeah...enjoy!

"Nicole nearly silently opened Paige's door and then closed it behind her once she entered. Paige was lying in her bed, crying quietly.

'Paigey, come here,' Nicole cooed. 'It's Sissy.'

Paige obliged and removed her covered. Nicole came close and scooped her up in her arms.

'Why Mommy and Daddy yellwing?!' Paige asked in all seriousness.

'I don't know. Now shh.'

Nicole took her sister to her room as quietly as possible. It didn't help the fighting going on in the kitchen.

Nicole had all three of them on her bed. She tucked both her brother and sister in, in hopes of the pure lack of energy would knock them out. It may work with Paige, but a 9 year old? She doubted it.

'And you say its me whose tearing this family apart!' Peter yelled.

'It is! At least my kids know that I love them more than anything. But you only love that hooker! That fucking skank whore! Do you even know her real name?! Or is it really Sunshine?!'

No answer. Olivia got louder. 'WHAT IS IT?! TELL ME HER NAME!'

'Dani! There! Are you happy now?!'

So he was cheating on Mom, Nicole thought to herself.

Damn.

Nicole looked back over at her siblings, knowing they wouldn't understand what they were arguing about.

As she suspected, Paige's eyes were fluttering shut. Zach was staring at the ceiling, tearing falling silently.

Nicole touched her brother's leg. He jumped but remembered it was only Nicole.

'It's okay,' Nicole whispered, 'they're just fighting. Doesn't mean anything.'

'Who's Dani? Why is it such a problem?' he asked.

Nicole knew she couldn't explain this to him. Not fully, anyways. 'Daddy met someone. Mom thinks he loves her and not Mom anymore.'

'But he's married! You're supposed to  love who you marry!'

'Daddy does love Mom, Zach. They just don't get along all the time. Like me and you. I fight with you but we love each other,' she explained while pulling her brother to her hug.

Zach nodded, still in Nicole's arms. He was still crying, and Nicole was closer than ever to doing so. Dad doesn't love Mom anymore. He's leaving her for whoever this Dani is, she thought. How could I just lie to Zach like that?

Because she had to.

'Come on.' Nicole grabbed her iPod Touch and her headphones. Her brother loved her Touch and Nicole rarely let him use it. He took it and started watching Minecraft videos with the headphones so he couldn't hear as well what was going on around him.

'Don't touch me!' Olivia yelled. 'Peter! Don't touch-'

Olivia was cut off with a scream. Nicole's heart started beating quickly when she heard a thump.

'You son of a bitch!' Olivia cried, tears now streaming down her face. In the kitchen, she was on the floor, against the wall Peter pushed her in to.
