A/n POV
Things between Y/n and Jungkook had returned to a strange kind of normal.
Not the normal they had before, but something slightly different.
Y/n no longer made excuses to disappear whenever she heard his footsteps approaching, nor did she go to bed ridiculously early just to avoid being alone with him. After the way he had confronted her that night, she had realized that avoiding him wasn't making anything easier.
If anything, it only made her more aware of him.
Especially when she caught herself wondering where he was whenever he wasn't around.
And perhaps there was another reason she had stopped running. One she wasn't particularly interested in admitting to herself.
Every time her mind wandered back to those marks on his neck, she remembered exactly how irritated she had been.
She still didn't understand why it had bothered her that much.
It wasn't like Jungkook belonged to her.
At least, that's what she kept telling herself. Yet somehow, the memory of those women touching him still managed to annoy her whenever it crossed her mind.
Maybe it was the fact that they had been all over him, or maybe it was simply the way Jungkook had looked at her afterward, almost amused by how much it had gotten under her skin.
Whatever it was, Y/n had decided she didn't want to think about it anymore.
She pushed the thought away as she sat on the edge of her bed, scrolling mindlessly through her phone.
The house was unusually quiet that afternoon.
Jungkook had left earlier for some meeting, and for once, she hadn't felt the need to escape the moment he walked out.
She was just about to lock her phone when a notification suddenly popped up.
Y/n frowned. A message from Sera in their group chat wasn't unusual. What was unusual was the number of notifications that followed almost immediately.
One after another. Then the entire group chat seemed to explode.
Y/n opened it.
Sera: Don't kill me.
Y/n's eyebrows pulled together. Before she could even type a response, another message appeared.
A photo... She tapped on it.
The picture showed Sera sitting at a table, smiling at the camera with a drink in front of her.
But that wasn't what caught Y/n's attention, someone was sitting beside her.
Only part of him was visible in the frame. A broad arm rested against the back of Sera's chair, his black shirt pulled tightly across his bicep.
Y/n stared at the picture. She knew that arm.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked at it for another second, almost hoping she had somehow mistaken him.
No way.
Before she could say her thoughts out loud, another message appeared.
Mira was practically screaming through her phone from behind the screen.
Mira: IS THAT Y/N'S BODYGUARD!?
Y/n stared at the screen for another second before finally typing.
Y/n: Seriously?
